St Dorothys is a large detached house with stunning sea views over St Michaels Mount and Mounts Bay. This comfortable and spacious home is perfectly located to easily access all that wonderful West Cornwall has to offer. The house has a large outside balcony with private gardens. Set in the grounds of a former plant nursery the green leafy location is charming. Whist truly rural it is only half a mile from the main A30. Public footpaths and fields and meadows surround the area. This is a big house with five bedrooms and parking for two/three vehicles. The modernised large living room has a glass sliding door that leads to a terraced area and outdoor sitting space. Gardens surround the property. The view of St Michaels Mount, across Mounts Bay is spectacular.There is a log burning fire and we supply a generous amount of free logs for your stay. The living room opens on to a family dining area that comfortably seats eight people. The kitchen is open plan and well stocked with all utensils. There is a downstairs shower and toilet, leading to a stair case and the five bedrooms and bathroom. Please note that one of the single bedrooms is directly adjoining a double and you have to walk through the single to get to the double. During your stay you will have the use of the entire house with the exception of a 6th bedroom-located on the ground floor, which is the owners. She will not use the room during your stay. Two of the gardens are for the private use of the guests. Some garden maintance work may be carried out on nearby gardens by the owners and some of the estate team. The owner Gabrielle or her sister will be minutes away during your stay to offer assistance or advise and information, should you require it. You will be met on arrival. She is happy to show you around so that you see and understand the full scope of what a stay at St. Dorothy's can truly can offer you. The main A30 road to Penzance passes through the village of Crowlas and St Dorothys is about half a mile from the village.There is a pub in the village which specialises in real ales and there is a small general store,post-office and Chinese take away. Marazion is 2 miles away and boasts the every popular St Michaels Mount, as seen from the house. A must on the visit list. Penzance just 3 miles away has a wonderful open air sea water Art Deco Swimming pool. A long promenade, takes you into the fishing port of Newlyn and antique shops,pubs and restaraunts show a long association with trade and Pirates! St Ives, is about 7 miles away. The area has a wealth of cafes, pubs and restaurants offering a variety of food. Beaches in this part of Cornwall so close to Lands End are stunning and around each side of coast line, from 2/7 miles including beach's known for their surf. Costal path walks are very popular and can be located within 3/11 miles of St Dorothys. Our property backs on to St. Michaels Way, a walk enjoyed by many ramblers. There is a bus service that runs through the village of Crowlas on the A30 to most major towns Truro, Penzance and St Ives included. There is a train station in Penzance (the last one in England!) and also a station at St. Erth. Times and frequency will vary. From the village and A30 you access to the property by travelling up a narrow country road. You then leave the tarmac surface travelling for about two hundred yards along an uneven private lane. You will truly be in the country. From the back of the house two bedrooms overlook the grounds. Very occasionally you may see people working in the gardens. No street lights surround you and only occasionally a car passes to access a home beyond the main house. If you love the natural beauty and sounds of the outdoors, then this location is a bright star.
