A Nyaraló/Your Chalet

'Your Chalet' is a detached house in a tiny, quiet village in the middle of the most picturesque national park of Hungary, right next to a forest, and 8 km from Lake Balaton. The house is called ‘A Nyaraló’, which means cottage house or chalet, as we hope you will feel as if it was truly yours for the time you spend there. The house can easily accommodate at most 8 people; we especially recommend it for families. If you love nature, culture and peaceful environment, this is your place. The house is in a garden sporting a covered terrace and a fireplace, and is surrounded by a shoulder-high stone wall. On the ground floor, there are two double rooms with private bathrooms each, a fully equipped spacious kitchen and a veranda dining room. The upper floor has a cosy, romantic double sleeping corner, a bathroom and a, airconditionned room with two single beds, and a splendid view of the village and the surrounding volcanic hills. Linen, towels are provided. In front of the house there is a terrace garden with fruit trees, plants and a pétanque court, as well as parking spots. (EMAIL HIDDEN) The Kali Basin, also called the Hungarian Provence, was covered by a pre-historic sea and was an area of volcanic activity some millions of years ago that makes the scenery spectacular and unique in the country: sandstone mountains, basalt cones, limestone ridges, plateaus covered by dolomite blocks, hidden little lakes in ancient oak forests, as well as middle age church and manor house ruins are all to be discovered by you. While you explore the treasures of the surroundings you will get unexpected views of Lake Balaton where you can enjoy all sorts of watersports. Balatonhenye is a tiny hidden village, a 2-hour drive from Budapest, a 10-minute drive from the closest beach and just a few kilometres from the Kali Basin’s other splendid little villages such as Kékkút, Köveskál, Kövágóörs, Salföld, Mindszentkálla, Szentbékálla and Monoszló. From the top of the local hill you will have a perfect view of the Basin and Lake Balaton. Köveskál, the next village, is a local culinary centre, with 6 restaurants specialised in the area’s home-grown produce. In the village, you can buy fresh eggs and bio vegetables from the local neighbours. We will tell you all secret spots to discover for local food products, restaurants and will advise you where to go for breath-taking hikes. The cottage has been done up to a very high standard and therefore we expect our guests to respect the cottage and its contents. The security deposit of 20,000 HUF we require you to pay us secures us against damages, which will be paid back at check out if no damage done. The house is well-suited for little children - even toddlers -, baby chair, baby bed are available. The heating system and radiators will keep you warm should the nights be chilly. In addition to the rental price guests will be charged for Balatonhenye's municipality tourist tax (200 HUF adult/night). No smoking allowed inside. Please no pets.
