"ZEN OAKS- THE ECO FARM STAY" We are an ecofriendly farm stay located amidst the pristine Oak & Pine forests in the hills of Kasar Devi known for its cosmic energy. Once a home for likes of Swami Vivekananda & Bob Dylan has been a huge draw for artists, spiritual seekers, free thinkers , philosophers for years. We at Zen Oaks believe in the true essence of Zen & strive at giving our guests an experience which is enriching, relaxing and at harmony with nature . We are an eco farm stay in the village Sirkot, Kasar Devi. Our farmstay is on the slopes of the hills surrounded by Oak & Pine forests. We have a double sharing mud & stone cottage which is naturally lit & has an amazing mountain view. We also have a 4 bed cottage for families & groups alike. For backpackers & budget travelers, there is a bunk bed dormitory which can house 8 guests. all cottages have attached washrooms & a garden space infront of the porch. We have created quaint little corners which are a perfect space for your evening tea & bonfires & hammocks for you unwind yourself. There is an inhouse kitchen where we serve our guests organic seasonal harvest & Kumauni cuisine.Peace, Tranquility and Serene beauty would best describe our off-beat Jungle Retreat. Nestled within a deep Pine Forest approachable by Road. More than hundred different exotic species of birds occupy the forest. Our property is surrounded by caves to be explored and a nearby Waterfall. Equally amazing for families and couples. ZENOAKS boasts of a on-site multicuisine cafe. We mostly serve wood chulha cooked 100% Organic, Pure and heart warming meals. We specialize in Jungle style cooked local cuisines both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian. # Nearest Railhead is Kathgodam railway station with direct trains from Delhi, India. # Nearest air connectivity is Pantnagar airport (3 hours Drive). # Nearest city Almora (8 kms). The entire place is accessible to all our guests & we encourage our guests to involve in our plantation efforts across the hill. we have also marked trails to explore the hill and find their own perfect sunset spots. This is my home & i am available throughout for our guests for any help or cooperation. In rare case of my absence, there will always be someone to help you. We are located in the village Sirkot, near Kasar Devi. The farm stay is spread on the slopes of a hill with a clear view of the valley beneath and the surrounding hills of Almora. Just a 10 minute drive away is Kasar Devi. It is named after a 2nd century temple . A mere 5 minutes walk and you will reach the Hippie ridge . Evening and sunsets at the Hippie ridge are memorable and one can spot artists photographers and free thinkers unwinding here . Kasar devi also boasts of plethora of tastefully done cafes and shacks run by locals and the travelers who settled here, which serve a variety of Kumauni, North Indian, Italian, and Israeli cuisine. For those who love to drive, wonderful road hillside routs await while you visit the picturesque places of Binsar, Almora, Nainital, Ranikhet which are a 2-3 hour drive away. Guest who like to explore , the place has plenty of hiking and birdwatching trails around the hills to explore . Public transport will bring you till Almora from Haldwani. From Almora you can find a local taxi till the farm stay. For ones coming by their own vehicles you will enjoy the scenic drive till the farm stay. We have safe parking option near our farm stay and then a 2 min hike to your stay for your trip. We urge our guests to carry their own Water bottles and A carry bag for any plastic you bring as we are earnestly trying to keep our hills plastic free
