Boat launching is at the local motor camp (2km) or on the main highway between Mourea and Okere Falls. Stuart lives on site in a separate house, and is available to greet you on arrival and answer any questions. Otherwise, you probably won't see much of him. But you may catch a glimpse of Henry, his elderly Jack Russell, who usually sleeps away the day and is seldom seen unless enticed away from his comfy bed by food! Enjoy a walk to The "Okere Falls Store" for coffee or a meal, and for supplies. Also walk to Tutea Falls on the Kaituna River to watch rafting and kayaking. Drive 20-25 minutes to Rotorua for many other tourist attractions. Mt Maunganui is 60 mins away.
