Set on 60 acres our old Queenslander offers an opportunity for a relaxed private escape in the elevated altitude of The High Country Hamlets - a micro region in Queensland’s South East. We’re opening the doors to our home to encourage you, your family & friends to discover roads less travelled. Immerse yourself in the country, explore national parks & lakes, witness spectacular sunsets, star gaze, warm up by the fire & cool off in the pool. 130kms out of Brisbane CBD & 40kms north of Toowoomba. Our house is made up of four generous bedrooms, two bathrooms including an ensuite off the main bedroom. Our fully equipped kitchen opens out into a family and dining room. The 3m verandahs wrap around the house and are well lit at night. There are two gas heaters to help take the chill out of air in the colder months. There are four outdoor areas that can be used depending on your activity through your stay; a large outdoor table that seats 14 comfortably but has capacity to seat more due to the bench seat setup. A large Weber BBQ offers the flexibility of outdoor cooking and can easily accommodate a large roast for many. A high set outdoor table and chairs which is well positioned for sundowners. Relax through the day on the outdoor lounge overlooking the side yard or put your feet up on the day bed on the opposite side of the house. We have an extensive cottage garden and maintained lawns to entertain little ones, with plenty of space to roll out a picnic blanket. A fire pit is available for outdoor use on the “oval”, a mowed area beyond the swimming pool. We have two, very friendly, laying chooks in a fenced coop beyond the less productive veggie patch by the house. There’s an egg basket to collect the eggs which you’re welcome to use during your stay. We’re leaving our space for you to enjoy in its entirety, so please make yourself at home. We ask that the outdoor fire pit is only lit during low fire danger periods and that fires are always contained within the safety of the pit. In attendance with children, we ask that an adult supervise at all times. The paddocks are currently not in use. While we welcome you to explore on foot in well covered shoes, we ask that for safety reasons, no vehicles traverse the paddocks. As the weather warms up always be on the look out for snakes. The lawns and grass area around the house are clear and maintained but given the nature of our property a heightened awareness is necessary. Please bring beach towels for the pool.
