On the farm we have a range of activities to do: Horse Trekking, Waterfall walks, Glow-worm caves, Swimming in the streams, Rock hunting, Range top walks ( stunning 360 degree views of Hauraki Gulf and more) Or try: Horse Trekking, I have 8 horses available for guided trips around the farm or beach ride, Beginner and experienced riders can walk, trot or gallop through fields creeks bush with fantastic views of the valley and Moehau Mountain. Prices are 1hr- $65 1.5hrs- $75 2hrs- $90 Minimum 2 people needed. Weather dependent 5 mins drive from main entrance is the Colville shop (sells everything, ice, bait, petrol, alcohol, food), In Colville Village is the Colville Café, Art Galleries, Hereford and a Pickle which has local produce, meat, baking and coffee. Also a Post office and Tennis courts. Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat is 30 mins north east of Colville in Port Charles its a Bar, restaurant and offers Bush Spas and Massage. 10mins drive to boat ramp for boat fishing or try your luck rock fishing anywhere on the coast of northern Colville. Manuka and Bush blend honey available for sale at the main entrance ( all produced on Whitestar farm by happy bees.) 10-20 minutes drive to swimming / surf beaches Colville Village was a old gold mining, Kauri logging town in the late 1800 early 1900. There is a wee school with 32 students total still going strong. We also have about 6 communes still functioning with 1 still offering woofing for travelers who want to work for accomodation. Sheep and beef farming is also popular in Colville with lots of generations of family farms still running. Colville is becoming very popular destination, to just get away from it all, with a range of outdoor activities available In winter please drive carefully and check current road statuses. Also the farm track to the lodges can be very slippery so extra caution needed There is an information book on the table in the lodge that has a variety of things to do in the area, including maps and walks in the area and on the farm. Bottom sheets and pillows provided on all single beds, double bed fully made up.
