The Coach House at Kingsettle Stud
A self-catered two-bedroom apartment within a historic Victorian stable block. Secluded within the grounds of a family-owned organic estate, but just 5 minutes off the main road to Cornwall and 10 minutes from Stonehenge; immerse yourself in the Hampshire countryside! This is a rustic, private and cosy farmstay with spectacular views, numerous activities, friendly hosts and delicious, locally sourced breakfast items provided! The Coach house is a self contained 'two-up two-down' within a Grade II listed Victorian stable block. The flat boasts a tranquil setting with views across the surrounding farmland. There is a bathroom and small kitchen downstairs, a double room upstairs (queen sized bed) and a small second bedroom with two 'single' beds. There is NO sitting/living room although there is a TV, armchairs and pouffes in the first bedroom, and a SMALL sofa/love seat in the kitchen. The armchairs and sofa are comfortable but SMALL as the property is limited on space. The photos have been taken recently, please find a detailed description of amenities below. The kitchen is basic but well kitted out, with a hob, fridge, microwave and table with chairs. A countertop oven is also available. The bathroom has a recently fitted electric shower, basin and loo. A travel cot and high chair are provided in the cupboard under the stairs. There is a private garden with table and chairs, barbeque and views. A handbook with information on wifi, heating and local activities etc is provided in the kitchen. This is a very old building with plenty of character - the space may not suit groups that are looking for all the 'mod-cons' or a deluxe/hotel like experience. Nonetheless, it is a cosy, characterful and functional space for lovers of nature and the outdoors or those just wanting to 'escape', and we have several returning guests every year. For a couple or young family the space is ideal. DETAILED INFORMATION ON HOW TO FIND US BECOMES AVAILABLE ONCE YOU HAVE CONFIRMED YOUR BOOKING. GO INTO THE BOOKING AND LOOK UNDER 'GUEST RESOURCES'. Be aware that this is a working farm, so supervise children and use common sense! ONCE YOUR BOOKING IS CONFIRMED YOU ARE ABLE TO ACCESS VERY DETAILED DIRECTIONS FOR HOW TO FIND US IN 'GUEST RESOURCES'. We are usually about and you are welcome to come and say hello or join us for a wine in the sunny courtyard. Rural location just outside the 'quaint' village of Cholderton on the Salisbury Plains. There is an award winning traditional country pub 'The Malet' and a farm shop a short drive or walk away. Stonehenge and the A303 which is the main arterial road to Cornwall are easily accessed, making us a good 'half-way point'. For horse lovers we are local to two polo clubs (Tidworth and Druids) and local to most meets for hunting with the RA. Stockbridge, famous for its trout fishing, is just down the road. 1 minute off the A303 at the Tidworth/Cholderton junction. Grateley train station 5 minutes by car, Andover train station 15 minutes by car. 10 minutes drive to Stonehenge. 30 minutes drive to Salisbury (south) or Marlborough (north). 25 minutes drive to Winchester. 20 minutes drive to Stockbridge. - The second bedroom is small. - There is no living room; armchairs and a TV are provided in the main bedroom, but space is still tight. - The property is located within an organic estate - the birds, bugs and bees are a part of life here on the farm, and they do occasionally find their way into the house! - There is a short, well lit, gravelled walk from the carpark to access the property so you will need to carry bags a short way. - This is a very old property! The kitchen and bathroom have been recently renovated (during COVID) but if something seems faulty, have patience and come and knock on the door to let us know. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DOWNLOAD THE DIRECTIONS TO FIND US ONCE YOUR BOOKING IS CONFIRMED. YOU WILL FIND THESE IN 'GUEST RESOURCES' WHERE THERE ARE VERY DETAILED DIRECTIONS WRITTEN DOWN!
