The house is composed by private spaces of exclusive use of our guests (bedrooms and bathrooms) and shared spaces to be used with other guests (garden, kitchen, library and living room). Having been built between Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas, Porto Formoso proves to be the perfect place to stay to explore them, being 20 minutes from Lagoa do Fogo and 10 from Furnas. This village stands on a cliff overlooking the a protected marine zone, behind which rises a beautiful evergreen mountainous valley where the only organic tea plantation in Europe is grown: Porto Formoso Tea Plantation. Most of the island's naturalistic attractions are within 20-minute drive, like Furnas, with its thermal pools and Jurassic Park landscapes; Lagoa do Fogo, a lake of turquoise blue water wedged inside the crater of the homonymous volcano; Caldeira Velha, a thermal destination located in a breathtaking jungle; Salto do Cabrito, a waterfall inserted in a beautiful natural stage, where it is possible to do rapel; Gorreana and Porto Formoso Tea Plantations, the only two tea plantations in Europe; Salto da Farinha, a complex of small waterfalls that grace a valley on the Atlantic Ocean; Terma das Caldeiras, a small thermal pool frequented by locals, but worth seeing and the list goes on.
