A Place in the Suns' Villa Zoe, Hersonissos Crete

A beautiful stone clad little cottage as seen on 'A Place in the Sun' Episode 130 Nov 2018. Now redecorated and ready to accept its first guests! 3 outdoor terraces, modern fully equipped kitchen, comfy living room. Twin bedroom downstairs (open to living) spiral stairs to large upstairs room with kingsize bed complete with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. Upstairs sun terrace looking out to the sea which is only a 5 minute drive away. 3 mins walk to old Hersonissos square and many tavernas! A quiet small family house in the old village, a perfect little getaway. The local square with shops and tavernas is close by, lively nightlife is available in Hersonissos new town or further afield. The house itself has everything you need to make your stay comfortable including all sheets and towels, fully equipped kitchen (including Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother!) with large fridge and washing machine. The house can sleep up to 6 (with 2 on a pull out futon in the living room), but 2-4 is more comfortable. The twin beds are located in a half mezzanine open to the living area, but fine for older children (6+). The main bedroom is accessed (currently) by a spiral staircase and this, along with the entrance steps makes the house unsuitable for young children or those with mobility issues. Note: we no longer rent to young single sex groups. The whole house and garden is yours to use with just a couple of storage cupboards set aside for owners use only Local contact will be available to help with check-in/out and any issues during your stay. The house is only 100/200m slight uphill walk to the old square where there are numerous tavernas and bars open between April and October. The house remains an oasis of calm and quiet though even with the square so close by A car is highly recommended for this location as without one exploring wider in Crete will be difficult. It is possible to take a taxi from Heraklion to old Hersonissos and use the shuttle bus service between old and new towns to get around if required. If travelling with teenagers though, the shuttle bus can be a godsend, though there are lots of taxis in season too. The house is non-smoking. Please do not smoke anywhere inside the house. Please don't put toilet paper in the toilets anywhere in Crete, including in our house, the systems cannot cope. Note that there are a lot of friendly stray cats around who are very curious and will come to the garden to see if you will feed them. Please don't let them into the house as they might spray and the female cats can look for somewhere safe to give birth to their endless kittens! We work with local residents to try and get animals neutered and rehomed where possible. You can donate to this cause at the Village Pub in the main square. For safety reasons and the comfort of other guests, no smoking is allowed at the property. Please do not sit or stand on the outside glass tables for your own safety and to prevent breaking the glass tops
