Welcome to Leigham House, our Victorian Detached House was built in the 1890s. The perfect central location for both city and sea with Dartmoor a 20min drive and Cornwall 15 mins. The city is 650 yards. The breathtaking Plymouth Ocean Sound is 500 yards. Our house is clean, spacious, and friendly. We accommodate 8 guests in 3 rooms you'll find 3 listings for these. We welcome everyone. I look forward to seeing you soon. We accommodate up to 8 people in 3 en-suite rooms. 2 cozy basement rooms and one light bright ground floor room. All rooms are provided with clean fresh bedding, blankets, towels, hand soap, and hair/body wash in refillable bottles. Please bring your own toiletries to suit you. There is a Hairdryer, kettle, microwave, mini-fridge, cutlery plates, bowls, mugs, and tea coffee and milk in small sachets in the rooms. There is Free Wifi but NO TV. Essential Furniture for each room you'll have: Sink. Toilet. Shower. Bathroom mats. Bin Doormats in the basement rooms. Set of draws or side table with a lamp. Good size table 2 chairs and a wardrobe with hangers. Over the sink mirror and full-length mirror. THIS ROOM is the FAMILY Bedroom for 2 -4 guests. This one is in the basement. The floor is laminate and can be cold on the feet in the wintertime. In Summer it is cool so I will provide a heater for your comfort. Your Full-length Mirror is in the Wardrobe. You have patio doors leading to the fire exit route. All bedrooms have locks. Other bits n bobs: All electrical appliances are new, these are NOT PAT tested so you use them at your own risk. There is a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher in the Kitchen which is private please alert me. There are fire alarms on each level and escape routes marked. I have a strict NO SMOKING and Candle policy. To keep the noise down and dirt out please take your shoes off at the front door. You are responsible for locking the front door which is at street level. You have some DVD's and books in your rooms. I welcome Children. I do not have any special equipment for them. If you require the ground floor room please request this if you can’t do the stairs. NO access to kitchen or host areas. Please text or email if you need me and I will reply and help when I am available. I love meeting people from all walks of life. I do live upstairs and have my own, very friendly dog, Mila. Please let me know if you don't want her to say hello to you, as she loves everyone. I like to keep a clean and quiet house. I have other work and social commitments as well as walking my dog. I am happy to leave you to your own devices and I hope you'll feel like the place is more like a homestay break. Please arrange your check-in with me prior to arrival so we don't hang around for each other. I may be able to accommodate some late arrivals when I am home. Do not just expect this. Kind regards. We are so blessed to be a 2 min walk from the stunning Ocean vista of the Hoe and from the Citadel Memorial features and Smeaton's Tower (lighthouse). Many events are held on the Hoe, our house is a perfect location to access them just a 2 min walk. At night it is lit so you can enjoy an evening stroll, or sit on a park bench and see the sunset over Mount Edgecombe, moon, stars, and sea. Not forgetting the view to Drakes Island. There is plenty of grass for a picnic when dry and it is always clean. Just a short walk of 5-8 mins is a children's park area and the Lido outdoor swimming pool and promenade. There are a few cafes and restaurants on the seafront to relax and enjoy the view, but not too many, you can grab a nice takeaway Coffee, chips, cake or icecreams, etc... 5 mins walk will take you into the city shopping, Theatre Royal, Reel Cinema, and Plymouth Pavilions. 15 min walk you’ll reach Plymouth’s Historic Barbican, The National Marine Aquarium, Brittany Ferries, and Drakes Circus Shopping center. Food Glorious Food The city is full of different places to eat from morning to late night. Takeaways, Day Market food, and restaurants. All within walking distance. We have Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Turkish, French, Greek, Fast foods, many cafes, and Traditional British. Or bring food with you. There is a microwave and mini-fridge in each room. I have provided cutlery, plates, etc... Tesco Express is a 5 min walk and other Oriental markets, Aldi, Lidl, and much more within walking distance. There is metered on-street parking all over the city including here. Larger car parks nearby. I can provide a limited amount of visitor concessions when available you will have to request these on booking they are £5. In the car, we are 15 mins to the Train Station, Plymouth Argyle Football Club, Mount Edgecombe, and Cattedown. The bus stop is almost on my doorstep! Taxi ranks and further Citywide bus stops are a short walk too. The bus depot is about a 10 min walk and train station 15/20min walk. There are plenty of Taxis available in this area but I walk everywhere. We are 3-4 mins to the coastal walking routes which I can give you more information about. This is a perfect location to walk anywhere in the city center and the Ocean coast. There is on-street metered parking, Ringo app, which is all over the City. £1.50 per hour and £2 from 6 pm till 8 am. If you want a day ticket I have to order these from the council which takes 3 days - they are £5 and run from 8 am till 8 am. (24 hour period) I keep a small supply.
