After day of exploration retire to this spacious grade II listed cottage, steeped in history and original features. Refuel in the large kitchen, refresh in the shower room, relax in the roll top bath. Then recline in one of two bedrooms, or in front of the log burner. On a warm day you can take a blanket to the enclosed garden and soak in some rays with a good book. Location is perfect for cyclists, ramblers, dog owners as surrounded by walks, routes and trails. N/B potential for traffic noise. The whole property and garden is for guests to use. It’s a great spot for exploring the area and is close to all routes, trails and footpaths. While its surrounded by countryside and river walks, the historic market town of Frome with all its independent shops, pubs and cafes is just a 25 minute walk away. Due to the age of the property it is better suited to older children. There is a spiral staircase and the garden is up steps. However if you are happy to be super vigilant we of course welcome your family. The second bedroom can be set up as a single day bed, two singles or a king. Although old the proportions of this property are spacious and ceilings are 2m high. Dogs are also welcome. They do need to be supervised as the garden may have holes and hedges a inquisitive pooch could negotiate. Please note the property is by a road and you do get quarry traffic early some mornings. We are used to this but if you are a light sleeper it would be worth bringing some ear plugs :) The whole property, garden and private parking for 2 cars is yours to use. Whilst there is parking on site, the location is ideally situated for a car-free holiday. There is indoor storage for up to 4 bicycles. We are experienced hosts and are always on hand to assist if there are questions or improvements to be made before, during and after your visit. From the property you have excellent routes to all local attractions by car. By foot you can take an off road path into the centre of Frome and many walks and trails into the lush Somerset countryside. The house is surrounded by cycle tracks to Bath along the old railway and around the Longleat estate. Maps and routes will be provided at the property.
