Close to John Forrest National Park,the Park was established as an A Class Reserve in 1898, home to two waterfalls that flow in winter and spring – Hovea and National Park Falls. There are excellent recreational facilities available including barbeque and picnic areas, walk and horse trails and mountain bike tracks. The park has 10 species of native mammal (one declared rare), and 91 species of bird (two considered to be in need of special protection), 23 species of reptile and 10 species of frog. For those interested in wildflowers, a slow drive along the full length of Park Road will show you many of the 500 odd species of wildflowers recorded for this park. The Park is well equipped for people in wheelchairs. There are disabled parking bays as well as accessible toilet and picnic areas. The John Forrest Tavern offers meals and drinks to the general public. Take a walk or cycle from us along the old Swan Railway Route through the Railway Tunnel and up to the Pub for a well deserved drink and feed !!! Visit the numerous Wineries, Taverns and Pubs in the Hills, and take time to see the historic Mundaring Weir and the Golden Pipeline. We are also close to the exquisite Swan Valley Tourist Area with Wineries , Breweries, Restaurants, Coffee shops and more!!! Bus Service available about 800 meters ( 10 minute walk) away, direct to Midland Town Center & Railway Station. Airports are about 15 minutes away. Taxi Service readily available. All amenities are so close. Airport, train, bus, shopping, wineries, historic venues, nature trails. Hosts are willing to give advise for daily activities. Breakfast can be arranged on request.
