Rocky Point Hut, romantic & adventurous getaway

Take a beautiful walk over Pepin Island and enjoy the phenomenal scenery of Cable Bay and Tasman bay along the way. Nestled amongst native kanuka and coastal New Zealand bush, situated on a cliff is Rocky Point Hut. Stay some nights in the beautiful and private hut with a comfortable wood interior and take in all the incredible views. Spend your time relaxing and treat yourself in the hot outdoor bath with a panoramic view over the Abel Tasman ocean. The perfect setting for a romantic retreat. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY What is included: - Double bed - Solar hot water bath (please note that in rainy weeks, the hot water is limited - there is gas hot water for back up when there isn't quite enough solar) - BBQ and inside gas cooker - Small fridge - Outdoor seating areas - Kitchen and cooking essentials - Bedding and towels - Tea & coffee - Over winter, it can be chilly but we make sure there is plenty of warm bedding and hot water bottles! Requirements: - Medium-hard walk 1-2 hours, steep hills - Adults only - request if child (dangers around cliffs) - Sleeps two - Self-catered unless made a food service enquiry: - Grocery order. Just send us your detailed list and we will have the groceries up at the hut ready for your arrival. $40 + receipt amount - Cheese assortment platter $60 - Light breakfast, providing muesli, milk, yoghurt and some seasonal fruit $10 pp/morning. (cheese platter and breakfast services are on hold now due to covid regulations) - Hut shop items at the hut: Proper crisps, chia sisters drinks etc. items priced. - NEW: Nelson-made Aroha chocolates, box of 6 mixed truffles or box of 4 hearts all different flavours. Order in advance because we only order on demand so they're fresh! Perfect surprise treat for someone special! Rocky Point has a minimum 2 nights year round, however you may be able to enquire in for one night for between bookings. We also have two other unique huts under different listings, Passage Hut and Nikau Hut. Farm tour package includes: - 4WD tour around the Island - Dog demonstration in mustering sheep - Sheep shearing - Morning tea - Price on enquiry If you want a lift to the hut, we have 4WD lift options available. This costs $60 for a one-way trip. A certain degree of fitness is required as there are very steep hills. Please message in what you would like and we'll make it work for you! We have 3 huts on the Island and they all are very private and in significant distance apart from one another. We ask that you do not explore more of the Island than what is mentioned on the map for the sake of other guests privacy in the other huts. Further explanation will be provided on arrival. We are 30 min drive from Nelson City. Cable Bay Beach is the boulder bank joining Pepin Island to the main land. The Island is private so it is peaceful and quiet for guests staying in huts. When you get to the entrance of the Island, follow the driveway up, passing over 2 cattle stops and taking the upper road after the second cattle stop. The driveway goes in a loop around our house. From there we will give you directions where to park your car and how to get to the hut. It is a private Island so parking is safe and we make sure no one without authority wanders onto the Island. Just another reminder, that it is approximately a 90 min walk with a few steep hills. You must bring: - Appropriate footwear - Food unless you've chosen to have groceries delivered - Warm clothing - Rain jacket *Hut are closed in September to mid October due to lambing season.
