Erganagh Gate Lodge is a charming holiday retreat situated in the hamlet of Gortnagarn, near Gortin, in the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This traditional lodge has its own private garden and plenty of space inside to relax after a day of exploring this unique and spectacular region. Freshly decorated with its own quirky style, a super-comfy sofa, full central heating, fast WiFi and 43" smart TV. And if you don't feel like cooking, just stroll down to the village pub for dinner! The house is a bit like a tardis--there's a romantically-decorated double bedroom with a pocket spring mattress and luxury bedding; a country-style twin room with a 2m day bed (latex mattress) and handmade Vono divan; a large family bathroom and an en-suite bathroom. Spacious sitting room with dining area, smart TV with Netflix and other Apps, plenty of books and games. Well-equipped kitchen. Enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks in the private garden, or just watch the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Tourism NI Certified; Good to Go Certified. Member of Historic Houses and Ulster Architectural Heritage. Flexible check-in/out and same day booking, depending on availability and my commitments! Please send me a message to enquire. Parking for one car in the designated space alongside the stone wall. There is a bus service but a car is advisable for getting around. I live in the main house just up the drive, so I am available when needed. The Lodge is on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Gortnagarn, between Gortin and Omagh in County Tyrone. We are only 5 minutes drive from the spectacular landscape of Gortin Glen Forest Park with its scenic walks and mountain bike trails; a couple of minutes further takes you to the Gortin Lakes (perfect for wild swimming), and then into the picturesque village of Gortin. A few minutes drive South and you are in the bustling county town of Omagh on the banks of the Strule River, which boasts two cinemas, an arts centre, pubs, cafés, a splendid swimming pool and leisure centre, and several supermarkets. For history buffs, the Ulster American Folk Park immerses you in the experience of Irish emigration to America, while the Abingdon Collection is full of classic boy’s toys (cars and motorcycles). The fabulous Fermanagh Lakelands and National Trust properties are close by, while the cosmopolitan cities of Enniskillen and L’Derry are both 45 minutes away, and the Antrim and Donegal coasts just over an hour. The potential day trips are endless. There is a bus service but a car is recommended. This area of the Southern Sperrins is a magical hidden gem!
