Dugong Place - Absolute waterfront & private jetty
Dugong Place is a comfortable, unpretentious, three bedroom home, on beautiful Macleay Island. Located a five minute walk from the ferry & barge terminal. Includes private jetty, large deck with big views to Karragarra, Lamb & North Stradbroke Islands & complimentary kayaks (bring your own life jackets), for guest use. An ideal location for retreating, a romantic getaway, exploring the Southern Moreton Bay Isles, or aquatic activities. Dugong Place is genuinely enjoyable. The home comprises three bedrooms, master with a queen bed; double room with two singles; and a third bedroom is furnished as a nursery, with a top of the range Incy cot. There is separate dining, living room with television; as well as a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. The home has unparalleled views and a unique position, literally five minutes walk from the ferry and barge terminal. There is a sense of seclusion. However, the island hotel - Pub Paradise, Blue Parrot Cafe, Spar supermarket, Post Office, hardware, medical clinic, dental practice, library, real estate agents; and an opportunity shop, are two hundred metres away, around the corner. Dugong Place truly has a premium position. Guests have exclusive access to the entire house, a front and back deck with extensive views, a substantial private jetty and two kayaks with paddles. Macleay Island is well worth exploring. It is only six and a half kilometres long. However, there is much to see and do. There are several unique beaches, including loved Pat's Park and Dalpura Bay. Pat's Park is the only beach on Macleay Island with a shark net, enclosed swimming area. Similarly, Karragarra Island's enclosed swimming area is a short ten minute kayak paddle from Dugong Place's jetty, or a two minute, free ferry ride from Macleay Island. Macleay Island Arts Centre for exhibitions, art classes and artists in residence programs, is worthy of a visit. Barefoot twilight bowling is at Club Macleay. Bay Islands Golf Club has club and buggy hire, so try your swing at nine holes. The Lemon Farm Organic Market is open to the public Tuesdays and Saturdays, with a range of entertainment, fresh produce, grocery items, socialising with island characters, farm animal petting, coffee, as well as wood fired pizza. The Macleay Island Community Library is open three times a week for book and magazine browsing, free WIFI; and access to the island's local history collection. Macleay Island has a taxi service, as well as courtesy buses for each of the clubs. The bowls club, Club Macleay has a courtesy bus, similarly, Bay Islands Golf Club has a courtesy bus. Both clubs offer a range of bistro meals and live entertainment. Pub Paradise has live performances, as well as a range of meal options. Both Pub Paradise and Bay Islands Golf Club are a short walk from Dugong Place. Tingiara Boat Club has a fish and chip night, for the public, the first Friday evening of each month.
