Welcome to The Old Dairy, two cosy, luxurious, pet friendly cottages. Located in a rural lane, next to ancient woodland & opposite the Gloucestershire Way, it's perfect for walking, cycling & relaxing. All on one level with private, secure patio & terrace and parking for one vehicle per cottage. The cottages enjoy free satellite TV & fast, reliable Wifi. The cottage has complimentary fresh ground coffee, tea, sugar & other essentials. Oak flooring and vaulted ceilings throughout. Luxury kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, hob & oven. A bedroom with King size bed and tiled en suite bathroom with walk in power shower - enjoy the fluffy towels and the locally handmade soap left for each guest. We have now been certified as "Good to Go" by VisitEngland. So relax and feel reassured that we are following all the cleaning protocols set out in the Government guidelines Outside is a private terrace with lots of attractive plants and flowers and comfy garden furniture. Over the terrace wall is a field full of friendly grazing sheep. At night enjoy watching the rare horseshoe bats putting on a great flying display and listen to the hooting of the owls. Sit out on the terrace and enjoy watching the swallows and hear the cry of the buzzards overhead. There is a local shop, takeaway fish & chips & pizza are just a 15 minute walk away. There are two cottages opposite one another. Why not hire both and accommodate four people? We accept up to 2 well behaved, house trained small dogs or 1 medium sized dog. There is a charge of £25 per dog per stay (or £35 for 2 dogs). I will contact you after your booking to arrange payment. Check-in is via a keysafe. The two Cottages are opposite one another. Each is a totally self contained property and you have all the cottage, both inside and out, to yourselves. I live a few miles away and am close by if you need me but otherwise you will be left completely in peace. There is a key safe. The cottages are situated on a quiet country lane surrounded by fields, woodland and smallholdings. The Gloucestershire Way and the Wysis Way run right by our gate as well as many woodland walks that can be taken direct from your cabin. At the end of Jubilee Road is St Anthonys Well a local beauty spot in the woods that is well worth a visit. “The Old Smithy” village shop is a 15 minute walk away. Next door is a fish & chip/pizza takeway. Walk another five minutes and you are in the centre of Mitcheldean, a large village with a Coop, butchers, pharmacy, florist and takeaways – don’t forget “The Bespoke Brewery”, our local microbrewery – it has a bar that opens at weekends at The Old Mews. You’ll find that you have been at The Old Dairy Cottages for several days before you even think of using your car. A five minute drive away you can enjoy wild swimming in the river Wye or, if you don’t fancy getting your hair wet, why not hire a canoe for the day? Too active? Need to be Kneaded? We welcome 2 well behaved, house trained small dogs or 1 medium sized dog. We leave a blanket, towel, poo bags, water & food bowel and a treat for each dog.
