5 houses surrounded by greenery and equipped with every comfort: 2 swimming pools, a tennis court and a five sides football field in synthetic grass, jogging paths for those who love to play sports in the quiet of countryside. In Upper Salento, there is Sava in the province of Taranto. In the mysterious and fascinating land of the Messapi, of the Greeks, and the Byzantines there is an Ancient Masseria immersed in the beautiful Apulian hinterland nature and surrounded by vineyards and centuries-old olive trees : Masseria La Camardia, name deriving probably from the latin language Comes Arduus. A wonderful and nostalgic vestiges that enhance millennia of history and traditions. The first settlement dates from 1500, and it was built in the same place where since the messapian age (3500 years ago) was the ancient Sava: Casale di Pasano. It was already inhabited by Greeks, Romans and finally abandoned in 1300 during the Saracen raids. It is located about 140 meters above a clear blue sea and at short distance from the clean beaches of the Ionian Sea (from Marina di Lizzano passing Torre Ovo until Campomarino). The house is in the surrounding countryside (15 hectars) adjacent to the main structure: there are in total five houses completely independent with everything needed to enjoy your holiday: living room with kitchenette and sofa bed, wide bedroom equipped with television, bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Air conditioning, fridge and free Internet (7Mbit) Outside there is a covered patio, equipped with barbecue to organize outdoor barbecues and a small private garden with sun terrace. The owners stay in the main structure (200 mt. from the house), ensuring effective assistance to their guests. There are several sports and leisure proposals for the guests: a tennis court and a five sides football field in synthetic grass. Inside the property there is a semi-Olympic pool and a smaller one for children, both with salt water and purified according to the latest standards, available to guests. Swimming pools and sports facilities can also be used by guests stay in the main structure (Page AIRBNB "Masseria Camardia" - luxury house for 8 people). The pools are available from May 15 until October 30 if weather conditions permit. For joggers there is a chance to make health paths in a green park (7 hectares) with tall trees also equipped with a playground for children. Finally, you can rent bicycles to ride in the wonderful Mediterranean maquis and on the nearby beaches. At Masseria La Camardia you can also taste high quality wine and food products from neighboring farms that use local raw materials processed according to traditional methods: extra virgin olive oil, wine "Primitivo" from Sava and Manduria, baked goods (tarallini, biscuits, friselle, wheat bread and pucce) and those coming straight from the Farm with the seasons (peppers, eggplant, buns, tomatoes, watermelons and melons, etc.). Just 15 minutes drive you can reach the white beaches of the coast classified among the most beautiful in Europe. The places not to be missed for those who want to combine a relaxing holiday and a cultural route of great value for tourism are: Lecce and its baroque, the Valle d'Itria with its characteristic stone constructions (Trulli), Ostuni the " white city ", Grottaglie with its District of Ceramics, and one of the most famous archaeological parks, only 10 Km away, in Manduria, which has professional guides (also in foreign languages). Here you can also take guided tours of the where is produced oil and the wine "Primitivo" exported all over the world, with tastings of local products. And again, Gallipoli, Otranto, Martina Franca .... and much more! Cleaning are provided 1 time per week usually on Saturdays. Additional requests with a daily cost of Euro 30,00. The linen is changed every Saturday. The house has private parking, washing machine, satellite TV and DVD player. Cot and high chair for younger guests, on request. Airports: Brindisi, 60 km; Bari, 150 km. Brindisi railway station, 45 km. Taranto 40 Km. Rates are on a weekly basis. Check in Saturday at 3 p.m. - check out the following Saturday before 10 a.m. Guests have free access to all the facilities, including a laundry box where there is a washing machine for common use of guests. The owners live in the main structure (200 mt from the house) and are available to all guests' needs during their stay. Languages spoken: English, German, French. If you arrive in the late afternoon or on holidays, you can send an email with a shopping list and it will be arranged for you. The accommodation is 3 Km. from the town (SAVA) and is the perfect place for a holiday in the quiet of the countryside and the convenience of all the facilities available in the nearby town. The apartments are 45 km from the airport and railway station of Brindisi, 35 km from Taranto railway station and 150 km from the airport of BARI capital. One Km from the Masseria you can visit the Basilica of Madonna di Pasano dating back to Byzantine. There is also an extraordinary icon of the Madonna with Child painted on a tufa rock. Local hystorical Pichierri, in fact, traces the origins of the cult to the Byzantine era, identifying Pasano and surrounding areas as an area of great importance to the Byzantines themselves as characterized by crossing the so-called Limes Byzantine and the encampments of troops in the districts of the zone ("Camarda" in this regard is a typical name that would indicate precisely the area of the camps). the image painted on the tufa rock still kept at the altar of the church was preserved from the iconoclastic fury (it was put in place again after the destructive "storm"). The legend of the Pasano boulder, passed down orally and reconstructed in a document written by a bishop of the Diocese of Oria, 170 years after the event date, attributed to a miracle performed by the Madonna, the improbable fall of a large boulder from the sky, for the benefit of a slave imprisoned by a heavy iron chain, providentially broken by that boulder. There are also the Mesolithic cave "Palommara", the entrances of messapian underground routes, tombs and ruins of Greek necropolis. Available extra activities: Courses of Pizzica (typical Salento dance) Cooking class with typical products and ancient recipes Trips in a dinghy to explore the Ionian coast and fish the sea urchins. Prices will be provided on request.
