Charming village property with delightful views

'La Cachette' is a charming and delightful house hidden at the centre of one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages', in the breathtakingly beautiful Medieval village of Curemonte. We offer guests a romantic escape to a time gone by, but with all the modern amenities! We live only 5 minutes away so are on hand to be available to you should you need help with anything. La Cachette has a large kitchen / diner with stone fireplace containing a woodburning stove. In addition there is a living room with separate dining table should you prefer to eat in there. As well as the two double bedrooms and bathroom there is a study which contains a desk and piano, available for your use. Outside there is parking in front of the house. There is also a SE facing courtyard patio by the front door with table and chairs for eating al fresco. Guests are welcome to enjoy the SW facing garden at the back of the house (across the lane) with its lovely views (and a complete sun trap!) however please note that it is fairly steep and also is still a work in progress so you may bump into the gardener (my husband Mark!) Guests have access to all areas of the living accommodation (kitchen, living room, study, corridor, bedrooms and bathroom) Guests also have full use of the courtyard patio and the terrace in the back garden. Guests do not have access to the caves below the house. Over the road is the highly popular restaurant 'La Barbacane', where the three course Menu du Jour is only 13.5 euros, and the views are gorgeous. Be sure to book in advance. The medieval village of Curemonte also boasts not just one, but three of each of the following - chateaux, churches and fountains! It also has a great sense of community and every Wednesday evening there is a village BBQ where you can take your own food along to cook on the community grill and then eat and share company with other residents and holidaymakers. There are fantastic walks all over this area, as part of France's 'Boucle Vert'. It is the perfect holiday destination for ramblers and cyclists. Curemonte is within half an hour's driving of many other beautiful villages and towns, and ten minutes to the river Dordogne for swimming and kayaking. The closest supermarkets are in Vayrac or Meyssac, and there also weekly markets all around the area which are well worth visiting for local produce. Brive la Guillarde is the nearest big town, with all the shops you could wish for, plus a beautiful and thriving cultural centre.
