Cornhill Smithy, Rhayader

Located in the heart of Rhayader, Cornhill Smithy offers self-catering accommodation for up to eight people. Dating back to the 16th century, it combines atmospheric original features with all the modern home comforts. Pet and bike-friendly, it’s the perfect base for exploring the stunning landscapes of the Elan Valley and Mid Wales. After a busy day exploring you can refresh in the large, well-equipped open plan kitchen. Then settle down on a comfy sofa in front of the roaring log burner to talk about the day’s adventures or play some board games. Outside, the courtyard is a great place to sit and watch the red kites circling overhead, while a large covered area means you can enjoy the outdoor space whatever the weather. The Smithy’s five bedrooms (2 x double/twin, 1 x twin, 2 x single) sleep up to eight people. There are 2 shower rooms. We welcome well behaved dogs. There is a fee of £15 per dog, per stay which is payable on arrival. There is parking for 2 average size cars. There is plenty of on street parking and 2 free car parks close by. Owners Shane and Tiffany live on site and are keen outdoor enthusiasts and will be happy to share recommendations on walks and biking routes, plus any other local information you require.
