Situated in a quiet village at the foot of the Mendip hills our 17th Century Farmhouse is surrounded by beautiful countryside and was featured on TV's "Escape to the country". Our family home is everything you would expect from an old farmhouse – exposed stone and beams, flagstone floors, open fires and wonky walls. A far cry from swanky hotel rooms our home is bursting with character. The property benefits from 7 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which look out across the large garden and beyond. The property is south facing and benefits from 7 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which are light and airy and look out across the large garden and beyond to the fantastic views over fields up to the 15th century village church. From the back of the property there are also magnificent views across agricultural fields to Crooks Peak – one of the highest points on the Mendip hills. The property has been lovingly decorated in rustic, country farmhouse style to tie in with the property itself; there are plenty of exposed features throughout the property which give it a truly country farmhouse feel. Upon entry to the house you step in to a light and welcoming, large open-plan farmhouse kitchen. With a full length glass wall and double height glass gable end, you are immediately drawn to the wonderful views across the green fields up towards the historic village church. Complete with exposed oak beams and stonework as well as a large open plan fireplace it really is the heart of the home. The kitchen features a large island with double electric ovens, ceramic hobs and breakfast bar, as well as a large corner sofa for relaxing in front of the fire. There is a dining area with room to seat up to 12. High chairs are also available on request. A welcome hamper will greet you containing locally sourced goodies. Because it’s our family home it has all the creature comforts you would expect for a home with young children. Off of the hallway is a large playroom full of toys and games to entertain the little ones. There is a fantastic outdoor play area – with a tower, swings and slide, a 12ft trampoline, a 2 storey playhouse and sandpit as well as scooters, ride on toys, footballs etc. Also off of the hallway there is a cosy snug room featuring original flagstone floor, wooden shutters and inglenook fireplace with working log burner. This is our snug TV room which we cosy down in on a winter’s night or when you want a bit of peace and quiet. Further on the ground floor is a large lounge with an open fire place and leather sofas - perfect for lazy Sunday afternoons or evenings when the children have gone to bed. There is also a games room complete with snooker table, table football, table tennis and darts. Also on the ground floor there is a small utility room with separate washing machine and tumble dryer and a downstairs toilet. On the first floor the master bedroom features a superking bed with premium mattress, exposed floor boards and an en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. There is another large bedroom with a double bed and sofa bed if required, featuring wooden floor boards and a working Victorian fire place. There are three further bedrooms on the first floor - one king, one double and one bunk bed. There are also 2 bathrooms on the first floor – one with bath only and one with a shower and bath. The second floor opens up to a beautiful bedroom in the eaves. There is a king size double with premium mattress with a further small twin bedroom room with black out blind off of the master which is perfect for a baby or children. The bedrooms are packed with character with an exposed stone chimney breast and beautiful exposed beams framing the room. Also on the second floor is a further bathroom with a shower and bath. Outside, the garden benefits from a large lawn area, perfect for kicking a ball around, a game of Frisbee or relaxing in the sun. Fruit trees enclose the garden and lavender bushes line the front of the house along with roses and clematis climbing the stone walls.
