The Old Cider Mill is a beautifully converted old cider barn set in the wonderfully peaceful monmouthshire countryside. The cottage is a fabulous romantic and tranquil retreat set in one acre of meadow and adjoining spinney. Perfectly situated to explore all the wye valley, and nearby forest of dean, has to offer. This cosy cottage sleeps two guests and has an open plan living area with a woodburning stove. Outside is lovely gravelled courtyard with furniture and off road parking. With direct access to the Wye Valley walk, the cottage is set in a one acre meadow with an adjoining spinney. From the top of the meadow there are stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside across the River Wye and towards St Briavels .Where better to sit and enjoy a glass of wine after a busy day's cycling, walking and exploring? Very comfortably furnished throughout the cottage provides a fantastic romantic retreat, ideal for couples searching for a tranquil base in this lovely Monmouthshire countryside. This cosy cottage includes an open plan living area with a crackling woodburning stove for spending those chilly evenings in cuddled up with your favourite film or book .The well-equipped kitchen has a dining area and is waiting for you to prepare your meals after your days’ activities. This is where the old cider mill was once worked by a small pony. On the first floor, which was originally the apple loft, the mezzanine bedroom is open to the living area and will provide a restful night's sleep. Outside is a sunny gravelled courtyard and access to the meadow and spinney, ideal for relaxing at any time of the day and bird lovers can sit back and relax whilst watching the many species that will join you. There is also an outside tap for washing down muddy dogs, boots and bikes. This area is full of many walks and cycle routes and for those feeling energetic canoeing, fishing and golf are on your doorstep. For a quieter day you can visit the market towns of Monmouth or Chepstow which offer an abundance of charming tea rooms, individual shops and restaurants. This is a perfect romantic retreat to get away to all year round, situated directly on the Wye Valley Walk. Guests have access to the whole house, including the meadow and Spinney. I won't be available in person but always contactable by telephone/email Please note there is currently no WiFi at the property. Mobile signal is fairly good depending on network.
