You will be astonished by this beautiful 16th century home with its stunning 17th century frescoes. The house is situated in Catino, a charming, well-kept medieval hilltop village of the Sabina Hills. Ideal for relaxing or exploring Rome. Its stunning 17th century frescoes and original stone walls and ceiling was renovated in 1999 whilst maintaining its original character. It is situated at the top of a village, offering panoramic views of the surrounding areas. This 350m2 house is on two levels and has three terraces overlooking the medieval village. There are 2 living rooms, one dining room, 2 sitting rooms, one study, 5 bedrooms + 2 bathroom, a large kitchen (almost 24m2) with a fireplace. By car: From Highway # 1 Florence / Rome, exit Ponzano Soratte Follow Poggio Mirteto. Getting to Catino, park on the main square after passing the coffee C'é Catino. Eliane will be waiting in the square. Cafés and grocery shops are within walking distance as is the central square You will be warmely welcome by Eliane. She speaks italian, english and portuguese She will be able to give you practical information about the region. The region is relatively unknown, and no guide exists on the Sabin's Hills. So we did a little practice and cultural guide of the area that you will find in the house. The Sabina area has to be discovered. Catino is a lively village, facing the Monte Sorrate, you'll have time to enjoy delicious ice creams at the village café. The panorama is unique !! You will be astonished by the rich medieval history unknown of the region. Many 8th century villages, abbeys, monasteries are to be visited Many activities nearby: Swimming in the swimming pool, rivers, waterfalls and lakes Trail rides beside the Tiber, climbing, cycling ... Many architectural sites and medieval villages to visit, Orvieto, the Farnese Palace in Caprarola, underground lakeside town of Rieti, Farfa Abbey dating from the 7th century .. Walks in the forest and surrounding mountains. By car : from the Rome-Florence highway, exit Ponzano Soratto train station 10km Poggio Mirteto Scalo. Direct to the airport in 1h Fiumiccino Direct to the center of Rome, St. Peter's station. or Roma Tiburtina, Ostiense Roam, then stations served by the Metro. 40mn Walking distance: Café, restaurant, shops. In the village playground, climbing routes The house is an old house. We want to keep it its original appearance, while providing comfort. However, we do not offer the amenities of an hotel. The bedding is comfortable but simple, windows, shutters and original paintings are very old and fragile, and sometimes a little damaged.
