Funky apartment in Marrickville
Lovely light-filled apartment on the second floor of a small block of 15 units a stone’s throw from the heart of Marrickville. Ten minutes drive to Newtown, 15 minutes by train to the city and walking distance from the many excellent cafes, restaurants and bars in downtown Marrickville. Big lounge/dining room with air-conditioning and a sofa bed that sleeps an extra person (or two if they’re not too big). Quiet bedroom with a comfy queen bed and lots of hanging space. Bathroom with bath and shower. Well equipped kitchen with stove/oven and microwave. Access to a shared laundry with washing machine and dryer. Unlimited Wifi, Bluetooth speaker, DVD player and lots of books! You’ll have the apartment all to yourself. Check-in is via lock box so we might not meet in person but feel free to call or message if you need during your stay. I love Marrickville. It’s quirky but unpretentious, quiet but not boring and easy to hang out in. I’m in a nice part of the neighbourhood. There’s a big park round the corner, a beautiful new library up the road (which sounds nerdy but it’s really very cool) and lots of places to eat and things to do - especially if you like Vietnamese food and live music! There’s a Woolies Metro and an IGA in walking distance. If you’re an outdoor exercise kind of person, Sydney Park (the third largest park in inner Sydney) is a short drive, as is the 30km-long Cooks River trail/cycle way. And if you’re here on a weekend I highly recommend the Addison Road Sunday markets. Parking is unrestricted on my street and most of the surrounding area. If you use GoGet there are heaps nearby. We’re really well serviced by buses. The ones that stop near my place are: - 412 (Livingstone Rd x Pile St) to Petersham Station, Central Station and the city. - 426 (Livingstone Rd x Marrickville Rd) to Central and the city via Newtown and Broadway Shopping Centre. - 418 + 425 (Livingstone Rd x Marrickville Rd) to Sydenham Station. - 428 (Livingstone Rd x Addison Rd) to Central and the city via Newtown and Broadway Shopping Centre. The closest train station is Marrickville, about 20 mins walk. If you’re not up for walking catch the 412 bus to Petersham or the 418 or 425 to Sydenham. If you’re travelling to/from the airport your best bet is to get an Uber, it takes about 20 mins and costs about $30. COVID19 information: - My place is cleaned top to bottom between each stay including disinfecting of high-touch surfaces. - Linen and towels are freshly laundered. - Check-in is via lock box. - There’s a workspace suitable for working from home and unlimited Wifi. - I’m happy to be flexible around length of stay, late cancellation etc. Just send me an enquiry and let me know what you need. This is my sometimes-home - I stay here when I don’t have guests - so it’s pretty cosy and comfortable. You’re welcome to use anything in the apartment. I only ask that you respect my space, my things and my neighbours - it’s a small quiet block and I don’t want to make them cranky! There isn’t a car space with the apartment but there is plenty of unrestricted parking on my street and the streets nearby. My place isn’t set up for kids so I can’t tick the AirBnb ‘child friendly’ box but I’m happy to have them stay. Please message if you have questions about staying with kids.
