Whiritoa Beach House
Large, light and airy family beach home backing on to a shared beach access. Perfect for large and small groups alike. Open plan kitchen, dining and living area with sea views through floor to ceiling windows. Upper and lower deck spaces, perfect for relaxing after a swim at the beach and a rinse off under the outdoor shower, or sharing a meal cooked on the BBQ. There is direct access to the beach from the backyard which is also large enough for a game of backyard cricket. The space is yours to use as you please, though please do respect the fact that this is a family's holiday home that is used frequently throughout the year. As we live in Auckland, we will only be available via email, AirBnB message service and mobile phone. We will, however, endeavour to respond as immediately as possible and there are keyholders who live locally if need be. Whiritoa is a small township, predominantly populated with holiday homes, though with a permanent population of less than 200. End to end it is just over 1.5km, but still contains a local dairy and takeaways, surf club, playground, tennis court and skatepark, not to mention the fantastic walks along the beach and through the bush at both northern and southern ends. The larger towns of Waihi and Whangamata are 20 minutes south and 15 minutes north respectively. Whiritoa is a 2 hour drive from Central Auckland, 1.5 hours from Hamilton and 1 hour from Tauranga. There is no public transport, but a brisk walk will get you anywhere within the community in less than 15 minutes.
