Valentines Cottage - The Lakes!
Welcome to Valentines Cottage. A charming and inviting stone-built cottage filled with character, cosily located on the streets of Kendal. The perfect getaway for guests to escape to the Lakes and not be in the hustle and bustle of it all, yet only a 20-minute drive away from Lake Windermere. Step through the front door into the cosy living room and make yourself at home. Hang up your coat, kick off your muddy walking boots and turn the warming electric fire on after a long day walking in the beautiful Lake District. Relax on the cosy sofa, (which is also a king size sofa bed!) put your feet up and spend your evening watching TV. Your dining table and four chairs are conveniently placed here too, to enjoy a heart-warming meal, prepared in your quaint kitchen. Straight ahead from the living room awaits your compact but well-equipped kitchen, and on from here the main bathroom, perfect for a hot bubble bath to soak your aching feet and refresh for the evening ahead. The kitchen is fitted with electric cooker, microwave, washer dryer, fridge and freezer. Dogs are more than welcome to stay at Valentines Cottage. Retreat back to the living room to reach the stairs, climb up the carpeted staircase to find the two bedrooms. The first of which on the left is cosy and snug, with a single bed so perfect for children. The second is a large bedroom, featuring a large window with views of the streets below and it even has the original fireplace! There is also nursery equipment available (travel cot, baby bath and highchair), making it the perfect family retreat, equipped for all your little ones needs. Outside the back of Valentines Cottage, you have a private yard area, with chairs and table to enjoy the warm summer evening’s or those crisp blue-sky mornings for coffee and pastries. There’s also a stone-built shed, perfect for storing your bikes. Perfectly situated with easy access to the breath-taking scenery in the Lake District National Park. Kendal bus station and train station are both just a 10-minute walk away, with trains directly to the centre of Windermere, or change at Oxenholme station for direct trains to London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. We don’t have on site parking but you can park on many of the surrounding streets, which is less than a 5 minute walk. We recommended Bushers walk and Kendal Green.
