Amaroo - Kookaburra Cottage

A perfect getaway from the mayhem. Our cottage gives you the opportunity to have a few days, or longer, in a tranquil setting. You can do as little or as much as you like, relax for your entire stay, take a bush walk, swim or paddle in the dam, enjoy the fire pit, or chat to the animals. If you'd like to venture away from the property we are close to the Glasshouse Mountains, Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Bribie Island or D'Aguilar National park and more. Our property consists mainly of a lychee and mango orchard, although we do have longans and desert limes growing too. Much of our property is not farmed, leaving a large bush area with walking tracks which you can use. Your cottage accommodation is an open-plan one room cottage with balcony. There is a double bed to accomodate two and a pull out couch in the lounge area which will sleep an additional two people. To amuse yourselves you can: - take a walk through the bush - swim in the dam - paddle a canoe in the dam - feed the chickens, cows or sheep, or just have a chat to them - sit around the fire pit - just rest and relax! Your cottage accomodation is fully self contained away from the main house to offer you all of the privacy you need. We will be here to welcome you in and run you through the workings of the cottage which is "off the grid" - powered by solar and water from rain. Otherwise we will leave you to your holiday. We are located in a semi-rural area with neighbours far enough away that you will rarely notice they exist. Because of our location you will need to drive here, there is no public transport servicing our area. There are a vast selection of day-trip destinations if you'd like to venture out for the day. Property must be respected at all times. Guests are required to leave the cottage clean, neat and tidy, as they have found it. You are expected to clean and put away your dishes, rubbish should be bagged for removal. No smoking inside the cottage. No pets inside the cottage. Solar power and rain water tanks means guests should be mindful of power and water usage.... something we should all be in all situations for the sake of our planet. Just a reminder that there is no wifi in the cottage, but mobile reception is good.
