Tucked away on the edge of the town it is only a short stroll through our private wild flower meadow to find open countryside or a ten minute walk in the opposite direction to the delights of the famous market town of Tetbury. Complimentary e-bikes are provided so you can explore the quiet lanes and discover remote cosy pubs with roaring fires. Your own utility room contains butler's sink, washing machine and separate tumble dryer with plenty of room for walking gear or bikes. A warm and comfortable luxury base. It provides you with fantastic walks and cycle rides. We have an honesty bar so you can toast the sunset with champagne on the balcony, complimentary coffee to kick start your morning and two electric bikes with a selection of handpicked routes ready for you to enjoy cycling around the country lanes. If you do end up getting muddy, don't worry you have your own boot room with a washer and dryer for you to get clean again! If you get snowed in, we have warm blankets to snuggle up with on the sofa along with a selection of board games Netflix and Amazon prime. The Lodge is carbon negative and completely self-sustainable without losing any of the luxuries - it is powered by solar panels and a Tesla battery - we have eliminated plastic as much as possible and we have our own fresh filtered water supply. We are four stops and 70 minutes from London Paddington but a million miles from the city! We will arrange transfer from the station in our electric car (10min drive) - just request this when you book. If you are driving here then we have secure off street parking and an EV charging point. The Lodge can be accessed on the ground floor through the large double doors straight into the boot room or upstairs via the external staircase and balcony. Guests use the gated pathway to gain access to the private 2 acre meadow and then through a small gate into open countryside containing woodland, valley walks and a trim-trail on a disused railway line. A ten minute traffic-free stroll takes you straight into the heart of Tetbury centre for a choice of traditional pubs, artisan food and quaint antique shops - all dog friendly. We will always aim to be here to welcome you when you arrive but appreciate this is not always possible. We have worked hard to make your stay as easy as possible and believe you will be able to enjoy your time with us in peace, however we will always be at the end of the phone to answer your questions or help where we can. We are in a quiet and friendly place with a number of artisan shops on the high street, an Arts venue and several antique shops. A selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs also provide a variety of food to suit all tastes. The Wacky Races and Woolsack races draw a number of people into the area over the May bank holidays and are great fun to watch. Badminton Horse trials, Princess Anne's Gatcombe, The Beaufort Point to Point and Royal Polo are also exciting and popular horse events and well worth seeing. Prince Charles's Highgrove can be booked in advance for garden tours and afternoon tea. Westonbirt Arboretum and Prince Charles' Highgrove are fantastic outdoor attractions all year round and a short drive or a steady bike ride away. The Corinium museum in Cirencester or Chedworth Villa are well worth a visit to view roman mosaics. With everything you need within walking distance, we are also perfectly situated for exploring by Bike with an abundance of quiet roads and lanes to discover the surrounding area - two ebikes are provided for your use throughout your stay. If you want to explore further afield everything is easily accessible by car, there is a bus service and a train station at Kemble. We have provided maps and information on local bike and walking routes as well as places to visit to help you make the most of your stay along with our favourite places to eat and drink. When booking please let us know if you would like a breakfast hamper - a basket full of delicious local ingredients so you can enjoy a cooked or continental breakfast without having to go shopping. Champagne can be arranged if you fancy starting your day with a Bucks Fizz.
