The picturesque village of Adare a must see and Killaloe village on Lough Derg are less than 30 mins away. Just some of the historical trips you can take using here as a base. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with regarding your trip and I will help you in any way I can. You are welcome to walk around our lovely garden. We have a patio on the lower garden which is lovely to sit out on and have breakfast or just have a glass of wine in the evening sun. You have access to a clothes line if you wish. If you ever need anything, you can come to me at the house and I will be delighted to help you in anyway I can. I am mostly available to help guests with any questions they may have. I am an artist too and my studio is in Limerick, so, I may not always be there to help, but usually I am there in the mornings and most evenings. I can also be reached by phone if I am needed. My husband is amazing with giving route advice to guests, they usually regret not having booked for a longer stay after chatting with him. I have tried to list a lot of attractions in The Trip section but, we like our guests to feel free to ask for help if needed. This is a very quiet neighbourhood, in the country side, yet close to the city center. We are by a wooded area which is wonderful for strolls or jogging and theres a lovely childrens play ground made with natural wood at the entrance. Makes me wish I was a kid. Also, theres a lake there and picnic benches. We are very central to a lot of activities to do only short road trips away. We are also close to Bunratty Castle with lots of amazing restaurants to eat in there. Along with a day spent in Bunratty village folk park recreated and dated back centuries, the banquets at the castle are great. Gallaghers seafood restaurant is my favourite. In Limerick The Locke Bar (no relation) hold nightly Irish nights with music and Irish dancing free, the food there is fab, try their chicken wings. Limerick has a lot of history, try the open bus tour or the walking tour of Irish town and English town where you see the old walls of Limerick. There are many lovely restaurants in Limerick too. House and The Copper Rooms are a couple I love. The Cliffs are a must see too. They are spectacular, I have visited there so many times and I never tire of them. The Burren with its rare flowers and rock formations beside the village of Kinvara (45 mins away) is a lovely day trip too. Kilkee seaside is an hour away, beautiful natural pollock holes, (large volcanic holes which can be swam in when the tide is out) and cliff walks, another lovely day trip idea. All of the castles and village I mentioned in The Trip make for a wonderful day trip too, you could bring a picnic or eat at a local restaurant or pub, Durty Nellies pub and restaurant beside Bunratty Castle is a must, I particularly love their fish and chips. The Guiness is great there too. Really, you need a car to be in this part of the country. There are of course taxis and busses. Busses are a good ten or fifteen.minute walk from here and taxis are available but an expensive mode of transport. There are regular busses to Shannon and Limerick etc. You would enjoy your trip more with a rental. I can't think of anything that may impact a guests stay. We are new at this. So far, we haven't had any complaints.
