The West Wing is part of an historic country house, Carreg Llwyd Place, constructed in the 1800's and situated in beautiful mid Wales. The property was originally built as a work house using local Welsh stone. It is close to the stunning Elan Valley and the dams, and opposite the Red Kite feeding centre. The area is ideal for cycling and walking. We have private parking and bicycle storage. We have wifi and a continental breakfast hamper is provided each morning. The Bluebell room is a newly refurbished room with a comfortable king-size bed. It has coffee/tea making facilities, WiFi and TV. There is an en-suite shower room with toiletries. A continental breakfast hamper is provided. The room has stunning views of the surrounding countryside, perfect to escape your busy life. There are 2 dogs in the house. You won't see them but they do like to make themselves heard occasionally. I am always available to help or answer your questions by phone or in person. I will also be here to welcome you on arrival. Rhayader, the outdoor capital of Wales, is close to the Elan Valley where there are beautiful walking and cycle routes. It is less than a 10-minute walk to Rhayader town centre where there is a variety of shops, pubs and takeaways. Gigrin Farm is right on our doorstep, located directly across the road. The daily Red Kite feeding can be seen from your window (binoculars provided). Rhayader is approximately 10 miles from the Victorian Spa town of Llandrindod Wells (nearest train station), and 15 miles from Builth Wells, home of the Royal Welsh showground. The Elan Valley visitor centre is less than a 10-minute drive away.
