Quirky 1850’s Grade 2 listed spacious cottage in the heart of Snowdonia. Experience rustic living, with a wood-burning stove and multi-fuel, fired central heating, if you visit out of season… be prepared to light fires to keep warm! Our cottage is a homely traditional space, with a host of original features including slate and wooden floors. The house has a comfortable sitting room, with a sofa and cuddle chair, a lovely glass chandelier, an Alexa speaker and a wood-burning stove, making it a cozy space any time of the year. The wood-burner will be left ready for you to light, should you need it. There is a Smart TV, where you can tune in to your own Netflix, ITV hub, BBC apps. There is no terrestrial TV reception, so be prepared to sign on to the appropriate app, to watch your regular tv shows! Our separate kitchen boasts its original slate floor, a kitchen table to seat 6 persons, an electric cooker, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, crockery, cutlery and utensils. Unfortunately, there is no space for a freezer in this traditional kitchen. The bathroom has a newly installed, powerful shower with a bath, the water is heated by an electric immersion heater in the summertime and also by the stove in the kitchen in the colder months. The toilet is separate from the bathroom. The house has three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a brass kingsize bed, with a wardrobe, antique dressing table, bedside tables and lamps and a view across to Plas Tan Y Bwlch. The middle bedroom has a single bed, wardrobe, bedside table, lamp, again with a lovely view. The third double bedded room has an antique set of double drawers, a bedside table and lamp. We provide a child booster seat for dining and a set of small children’s cutlery and plates , but do not provide a cot, highchair, stair-gate in the property. We advise you to bring your own. Outside, we have a private garden to the rear with steps leading to a slate patio area for relaxing and dining, day or night. There is a table with 4 chairs, a parasol and a 2 seat bench. As the house is set in woodland, it has glorious views, but care should be taken when exploring the garden area, as it is rocky in nature. In the evening you might catch a glance at a horseshoe bat, as you watch the sun setting (weather permitting). The garden is not pet secure, so please take this into consideration. Phone signal is not great in the village, but enable Wifi calling on your phone and you won’t miss a call or your texts when you are in our property (only if you want to…). There are two pubs serving good food within walking distance of the cottage. This cottage cannot be accessed by wheelchair users, due to the property age and location.
