Brookelands Stone Cottage

Brookelands Stone Cottage is tucked away in a magical wooded setting amid indigenous trees and shrubs in the Elgin Valley. Situated on a small working apple, pear and grape farm it has all the trappings of a romantic hideaway, but within easy access of all that the area has to offer. Light, airy and private, the cottage includes a deck over a stream; Sunny or grey the views are spectacular. The kitchenette has a microwave, kettle and toaster and all required kitchenware. Outdoors you have a choice of standard or Weber barbecue (braai) facilities. Opt for cosy dining indoors or on a warm evening watch the sunset while eating al fresco. The bathroom includes a spacious enclosed outdoor shower. An indoor fireplace has recently been installed in the cottage. Take a fynbos trail walk through the Cape Nature Reserve, which borders the farm. Do some mountain biking at the nearby Lebanon or one of the other mountain biking tracks. Take a refreshing dip in the Brookelands farm dams, which are fed by the same mountain stream that runs beneath your cottage deck. Twitchers will certainly enjoy the prolific bird life both on the farm and surrounds. There are also plenty of eateries from farm stalls to award-winning restaurants and you can do some wine tasting at the local wineries.
