The house and the lovely terrace have recently been renovated to a high standard and is located within the historical centre of Artena, a beautiful ancient village perched high on a hill. Artena is approximately 40 kilometres from Rome. This outstanding area is suitable for those who wish to experience the true meaning of 'peace and quiet' while enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding open vistas and these can be enjoyed from the property also! This area offers every opportunity to indulge oneself in the traditional cuisines of ancient Rome and the Lazio region. Its historical centre is a safe pedestrian-only zone and from your property's location (once you have climbed its charming old steps- 90 STEPS-), you can enjoy outstanding views. The property reflects perfectly the ancient architecture that makes this area so very special. The house has its own independent entrance, a delightfully romantic atmosphere and boasts beautiful rustic features such as wooden window frames and supporting beams. In the height of the summer season, the house is always pleasantly cooler than the outside temperature. The locals are sociable and always willing to give a helping hand. This makes it an ideal location for children and parents to enjoy plenty of stress-free strolling or for the more adventurous amongst you, you could enjoy mule riding on the weekends! In the historical centre, you will find a grocery store, a coffee shop and some traditional taverns serving authentic homemade food It is strongly recommended to rent a car for a deeper exploration of the area. Alternatively, you can take advantage of the bus service that connects Artena with Rome Anagnina (Metro A stops in Rome) taking less than 1 hour. It is also possible to board the train from the Valmontone train station (reachable by shuttle in 5 minutes) which takes you to Rome Termini (in the heart of the city) in only 45 minutes. Scattered around the property, you will discover several bars to quench your thirst, pastry shops filled with tasty treats, grocery stores and supermarkets stocked with all manner of delicious regional produce and all roughly 5 minutes away from the house. Furthermore, you can also find nearby the ‘Magic Rainbow’ theme park and the ‘Valmonte Outlet’ - a shopping lovers paradise! During the year there are numerous food and wine festivals and charming fairs to attend and the choice of traditional restaurants are almost endless.
