Mulh's House ****

Located in the heart of Villefranche de Conflent, classified to UNESCO, this house of character restored with charm, is to rent for holidays by the week. Peaceful home with all comfort and views from the terrace on Fort Liberia. In 1969 Mr. Mulh, Architect, decorator, sculptor and painter in Paris falls in love with the fortified city. He decides to buy a ruin there and begins a complete reconstruction of the building. The medieval spirit of the house with the predominance of wood is associated with a contemporary plan of different living spaces. The house is distributed in three floors. On the ground floor there is an entrance leading to the round walkway, a sculpture workshop and access to the vaulted cellar. On the first floor the main living area consists of two rooms with a dining room and a large fireplace then the lounge associated with an alcove and a mezzanine. The second floor was once a large workshop of painting and architecture. Today, the space has been furnished with small touches to offer a large reading room, two bedrooms in glass windows and a large terrace with a splendid view of the Liberia fort.
