In 2012 our family bought a log cabin on 65ha (160 acres) in the mountains about 85km south of Brisbane near Canungra, Queensland, as a getaway and retreat. In 2012 our family bought this log cabin on 65ha (160 acres) in the Gold Coast hinterland about 85km south of Brisbane near Canungra, Queensland, as a getaway and retreat. The mountain air, breathtaking views and escape from all the trappings of modern life are what we love and want to share. We’re proud to say we have no Wifi, no TV and limited solar electricity – just enough for lighting at night and to charge your mobile devices (when the sun’s shining). There are hand-washing laundry facilities only and a well equipped Laundromat in Canungra (a little village just 7km away). Beautiful untreated fresh rainwater is on tap. There is a cosy fireplace for winter evenings, with gas for hot water, cooking and refrigeration. The house has two private bedrooms available for b&b rental, one with a Queen bed, ensuite, and walk-in robe with room for a baby’s travel cot and a smaller bedroom, with two single beds and the use of a shared bathroom and toilet (a double bed can also be made available in place of the two single beds if required). You are welcome to share the kitchen, living and dining areas throughout your stay and there’s also a gas barbecue for outdoor cooking and dining in Queensland's wonderful weather. It is a great place to unwind and regenerate, to read, write, create, make music, art, recuperate or meditate. Lahey Creek runs through the glen below the dwelling with its beautiful shady rocky waterholes to explore. For those that want to use our place as a base to discover this beautiful part of the world, it is ideally located just 38km from Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, 22km from Mt Tamborine , 25km from Binna Burra and 44km from O’Reilly’s in the Lamington National Park. Just make yourselves at home. Your bedrooms are your private space but we're more than happy to share all the living and outdoor spaces. We are very new to this but we'll do our best to be available throughout your stay. We will be no more than a phone call away at other times and while we enjoy having company we also appreciate that some guests may wish to rnjoy time to themselves. There is so much to see and do in the locality - Mt Tamborine, Scenic Rim, Lamington National Park, Binna Burra, O'Reilly's, Canungra. Local wineries, markets, hiking, cafes, restaurants are all within an easy driving distance. Car is the best way to get to our place and to enjoy the surrounding area. There are some guided tours of the region. The area is not well serviced by public transport. Breakfast provided - we're very flexible and happy to provide you with ingredients if you'd prefer to cook in your own time. There will be fresh herbs from the garden and local honey from our bees to sample.
