The house is South facing and the large windows capture the Highland sunshine even in midwinter. Guests have sole use of the garden to enjoy. There is free street parking for cars outside the property. Contactless Self Service check-in. Don't worry about your arrival time. Take your time and enjoy the journey to Tain. Let yourself in using the key locker. If you are arriving after 10pm, please let me know. I live only a short distance from the property and can be easily contacted. I am always happy to answer questions and provide information about the area. The house is in a central village location and you can experience the day-to-day routine of the place. People stop in the street to chat, say good morning and pass the time of day. Local shops and businesses provide all the daily essentials. There are local cafes and coffee shops. In the evening and night time, the area is more quiet and there are restaurants, hotels and bars to enjoy. Tain is an excellent location to stay if you want to explore Ross Shire, Sutherland and Caithness. For whisky lovers, Tain is the home of the Glen Morangie Distillery, with Balblair, Clynelish and Dalmore a short drive away. There are also several golf courses within easy reach of the house including at Tain, Dornoch, Portmahomack and Invergoron. Tain is a small village and it is easy to walk around. From the centre, it is about half a mile to Lidl at one end and Asda at the other. Hotels, cafes, bars and restaurant are minutes away. Tain has good train and bus connections to Inverness in the south and Wick / Thurso in the north. By car or bike, Tain is situated on the main route north, the A9. This is part of the North Coast 500 and LeJoG routes, and NCR 1. There is a bus stop on the High Street for local and city link services. The railway station is about half mile from the house From the station the walk is up a steep hill The house is on a residential street. There is on street parking and guests are asked to take care not to block neighbours' properties and to observe quiet hours 9pm to 7am. The shower is over the bath and the bath is deep: stepping in and out may be difficult for some guests.
