The small hamlet of Claribes sits majestically on a limestone escarpment with amazing views over our own valley and vineyards. 130 sq m over two floors, the interior is spacious and well equiped. Wi-fi. Two master bedrooms, each with bath or shower room. You have the entire house, private gardens and parking to yourself. Vineyard and Winery tour (and wine tasting!), for all our guests. 3km from the pretty village of Gensac. We are adhering to French and Airbnb guidelines for COVID-19 hygiene. Peacefully situated on our own vineyard, with wonderful views from the gardens. The stone house has been renovated to retain original features whilst providing all the comforts of home, the large stone fireplace in the kitchen, feature stone chimney and massive original oak beams in the bedrooms help to provide character, whilst newly installed bathrooms, kitchen and furniture compliment the centuries-old features. You will have sole use of the house and gardens. The ground floor is a spacious open plan cooking, eating, relaxing space, with an abundance of cookware, dining furniture, and comfortable sofa and chairs. There are guide books, novels, maps and games available, as well as Wi-Fi, whilst the wood burner provides warmth and ambiance for cooler evenings. Upstairs are two spacious, master double bedrooms (5m x 5m) each with private bath or shower room. Cotton bed linen with plump pillows ensure a restful nights sleep, whilst soft fluffy towels are provided in the bath and shower rooms. There are gardens to the front and rear of the house with private off-road parking for two cars. Different seating areas can be enjoyed to catch the sun or sit comfortably in the dappled shade. A barbecue is in the rear garden, and a selection of outdoor games (badminton, petanque, footballs, rugby balls, etc,) is available. Our grounds extend down to the river frontage where you are welcome to paddle and picnic. The house is 5 minutes drive, or a 35 minute walk along a quiet lane, from the very pretty village of Gensac which accommodates two restaurants, small grocery store, newsagent, boulangerie, bank machine, doctor and pharmacy. Gensac is just a short drive from St Emilion, Sainte Foy la Grande, Castillon, Duras, whilst the towns of Bordeaux and Bergerac can be reached in less than an hour. Low allergen bedding can be provided on request. The house is self contained for up to four people. Infants under the age of 2 stay free of charge - we can provide a travel cot and high chair. You have your own private access, gardens front and rear, and private parking. We're on hand to greet you, show you around, and handover the keys. You have total privacy in your own house and gardens, however we are close by if you have questions or are in need of anything. We are following the hygiene guidelines provided by Airbnb in relation to COVID-19. You can find the detail of the guidelines on the Airbnb site. Although only 20 metres from our own home, the house is completely independent and private from us. We provide a house book containing essential information about the house with contact details in case of emergencies, as well as useful information about local markets, shopping, ideas for activities and days out, restaurants, shops and maps. We also provide a huge selection of tourist information for activities, sites and events locally as well as further afield. We're contactable to answer any specific questions; make restaurant reservations; etc. Just pop round or send a message All our guests are welcome to a tour of the vineyard and winery followed by a tasting of our Organic wines. The 400 year-old house is located in a very quiet hamlet of historic interest, yet only 5 minutes drive (35 minute walk) from the very pretty village of Gensac. Wonderful views over our own vines and valley, historic limestone caves, our own natural source of water, and river frontage, make the location quite unique! In the beautiful village of Gensac you will find everyday essentials - an ATM, two restaurants/cafés, small grocery store, newsagent, doctor and pharmacy. Only 5 minutes drive from the wedding venues of Chateau Soulac, Chateau la Tourbeille, and Chateau de Sanse. You are advised to have your own transport - car or bike! We can provide you with walking, running, cycling routes. Bikes and canoes can be hired from Pessac-sur-Dordogne, 5 minutes away. Nearest station is Vélines. Nearest airports are Bergerac (40 minutes) or Bordeaux (90 minutes). For the comfort and safety of all our guests, the house and gardens are no smoking zones. We are animal lovers, but due to our environment, we are not able to accept your pets under any circumstances. We ask for a 500€ security deposit.
