Talgarth Cottage, Snowdonia

Old stone cottage adjoining Hosts' house on former smallholding. Self-catering. Self check-in available (key safe). Ideally situated for outdoor activities - walkers, climbers, cyclists, lovers of steam engines and Zip World Attractions. Well-equipped kitchen; cosy lounge with woodburning stove (logs provided); one kingsize bed; shower room; washer and dryer; secure storage for bikes, kayaks etc. Views of mountains, sea and steam engines from the property. Private parking. We can accommodate two people. There is one king size bed. The lounge has a lovely log burner to make it even more cosy. The only shared space is outside, in the grounds. NB Old cottages are great, but some floors are uneven, there is restricted headroom in places and the staircase is steep and narrow. For these reasons, we do not feel the cottage is suitable for guests with limited mobility. There is an area of garden directly in front of the cottage for your use. The Ffestiniog trains may also be seen from the bottom lawns. We are happy to answer any queries, but, otherwise, will try not to disturb you. Talgarth is in the Snowdonia National Park between mountains and coast - both are visible from the property. There are public footpaths very close by, including the Coastal Path. Portmeirion is less than 3 miles away and there are many scenic towns and villages in the area, such as Beddgelert, Harlech, Porthmadog. There are several pubs and restaurants a short drive away. The footpaths and beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula are easily reached, as are Snowdon and the UNESCO Slate Landscape sites. Mountain bike trails, rock climbing, zipwires, surfing and many other such pursuits are available nearby. The Ffestiniog Railway runs by the garden - the station is 5 minutes walk. A loop from the coastal path runs by the garden gate. There is a mainline station about 1.5 miles away. We are also on a route popular with cyclists. Sorry, but:- No parties or events No children. Also, we have no facilities for infants. No pets NB we have access across the open frontage of the cottage, though we will normally keep our distance! Self-catering only.
