Shearwater is 400m from the path and the beach. There is an 1830 cottage in front of us and the rest of the land between us and the beach is National Trust. The accommodation is available for non-smoking adults and well behaved children. The house is a four bedroom family home offering a double bedroom (and a twin bedded room on a separate AirBnB listing) with a shared wet shower room on the top floor which is exclusive to B&B visitors. Breakfast is served in the kitchen breakfast room on the lower floor or in the sunlounge if the weather is suitable. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the bedrooms. The owners lounge and sun lounge are on the mid level floor. A bath, if required, is available in the mid level bath and shower room. The patio and lawns are available for guests. Mobile phone reception is available but WiFi reception can be poor. There is off road parking for at least two carefully parked cars which can be left there during the day. There are 19 steps up to the front door and 7 steps between each floor in the house. The garden has unfenced drops of about 2m. The top floor with two bedrooms and a shared shower room and toilet is exclusive to guests. The house must be vacated by 10am daily and will not be reopened until 5pm. The garden, patio and car parking is available for guests at all times Please advise planned arrival time at least 48 hours before and guests are asked to leave by 10am each day. The village has a very good pub, The Odd Wheel, which provides excellent meals in friendly surroundings. There is also a small general store, village hall used by various clubs, parish church, Pentecostal church and a beach cafe. There is doctor’s surgery in the village but emergencies are treated at Derriford Hospital 11 miles / 30 minutes way. Shearwater is 400m from the South West Coast Path and the beach. Princetown, on Dartmoor, is 21 miles away. We have a 5 (very good) FSA Food Hygiene Rating and can provide packed lunches (ideal for SWCP walkers) and evening meals for an additional charge.
