Set in the picturesque Rossendale moors, this quaint, hill top, private gated bungalow is the ultimate retreat for anyone seeking peace and tranquility. There is plenty of private outdoor space and gardens, for BBQ's, sunbathing, and chilling! The Rossendale valley is a fascinating area. Many local activities in the immediate vicinity include walking, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, cycling and even dry ski slopes! The Gatehouse is a bungalow, with a porch, kitchen dining area, spacious main bedroom, storage area (Could be suitable as a baby's room), and a large living area, with direct stunning views of the moors! Guests can use the whole site We will be available for guests where required. The local town, Rawtenstall, is beautiful little town packed with vibrancy and great choices for dining and drinking. There are many great eating and drinking establishments on the cobbled main street of Rawtenstall and the surrounding area. The city of Manchester is just a 40 minute drive from this property, so very much accessible to this major city. There is also a direct bus route to Manchester from Rawtenstall town centre, which is a 50 minute journey right into the heart of the city. Fancy hopping back in time for afternoon? Take a ride on the East Lancs Steam Train! Or visit one of Lancashire's best known sculptures, The Singing Ringing Tree is a wind powered sound sculpture resembling a tree set in the landscape of the Pennine hill range overlooking Burnley. This is just a 5 minute drive from the gatehouse, an extremely popular walking trail with a fantastic view and sound upon arrival! The Gatehouse is perfectly placed for hiking and mountain biking. There is an amazing trail over the tops and down into Rawtenstall, which includes forestry, streams and of course - plenty of cows and sheep! The lane up to the property is half tarmac road, and half farm track. Although it is easy to drive up, we ask guests to be careful when driving up, and not to drive too fast over the pot holes.
