Bring your fishing rod for some great down time by the beautiful peaceful Waihou River in rural surroundings. Location is 8km from Tirau Township. This is an off grid tiny home with seperate composting toilet. USB charging for phones/laptops/iPads etc. Gas hobs and outdoor barbecue facitlities. Not suitable high draw currents as the power is provided via solar. Due to river being so close and fast flowing this property is not suitable for children. Driving distances Okoroire Hot Springs Hotel is 6km Tirau Village is 8km Matamata 16km Hobbiton 16km Rotorua 55km Wairere Falls is 30kms away. The Wairere Falls Track is a very popular walk on the western side of the Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park near Te Aroha. From the car park an enjoyable, undulating track crosses large moss covered rocks and tree roots requiring decent footwear and some minor climbing. Small wooden bridges take you across the stream at several points, offering lovely views of the water and its cascades. Blue Springs, Waihou River Walk 15kmm drive and is an easy 4.7km (one way) walk along the Waihou River to the Blue Springs that will take you around 3 hours there and back. The water is so pure it’s bottled and sold. Enjoy seeing trout swimming in the crystal clear water as you follow the track alongside the river to the Blue Springs. If you want a very short walk then park the car in the car park down Leslie Road.
