Cable Bay Retreat

Cable Bay is the top of the south's best kept secret. The house has beautiful views of Peppin Island and the tidal estuary. The beach and cafe is 5 minutes walk away. The house has direct access from the garden lawn onto the estuary: Guests have free use of the kayaks. The guest bedroom has a balcony with estuary views and a private bathroom down the hall. A small guest lounge is next door to the bedroom for your private use. Cable Bay Retreat only has the one guest bedroom, so you will have private use of the guest lounge and bathroom. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and dining / main living area which has a log fire and another large veranda - perfect for morning coffee. Complimentary organic coffee: Enjoy it on the veranda for a relaxed start to the day. There are kayaks here you are welcome to use. The house has a lovely wooden log cabin look and has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with beautiful interior decor. Guests have access to all areas of house on the ground floor, and all of the gardens. I am available for as much or as little interaction as guests wish. There is also one cat who lives mostly outdoors. I am very happy to help recommend places of local interest to you if you should want or need that and to help you with bookings. The house in Cable Bay is 20 minutes drive from Nelson. Cable Bay has a lovely beach with gorgeous mountain views. The Cable Bay Cafe (Note: seasonal opening) offers great food and coffee. You can walk from Cable Bay to The Glen (closer to Nelson) - through wonderful native bush and hill top farmland. Pick up from Nelson Airport / bus station may be available for an additional cost - please enquire. You will be welcome to cook your own meals in the fully equipped kitchen (A gentle request to finish cooking by 9pm please unless by prior agreement.) I may be able to offer you breakfast.
