Beautiful little bolt-hole for two - Chapel Stile.
'The Piggery' is a newly converted tiny barn adjacent to Silver Howe (a six-bed holiday let). It's a bright happy space with an open plan kitchen/dining/living space upstairs and a cosy bedroom and bathroom with underfloor heating downstairs. Perfect for outdoorsy couples or individuals. A wonderful location with spectacular walks or bike rides from your doorstep. Just two minutes walk away from the village shop and pub. The car parking space directly in front of The Piggery is for guests of Silver Howe. However, there is always a parking space either along the lane beneath the church or on one of the approach roads to the property. The Piggery has a well-equipped modern kitchen with a microwave, oven, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge and quartz worktops. We have wi-fi, a TV, a comfortable kingsize bed and a bathroom with a good-sized shower. The lower ground floor has underfloor heating throughout. The living area is on the upper ground floor, and the bedroom and bathroom directly beneath accessed via a narrow staircase. There are four skylights in the living room area and a lovely stable door. I don't live locally but I am available via email and I have contacts and help available locally. Chapel stile is a lovely village with an amazing village shop (it stocks everything and anything and is central to village life!), a pub, a small Primary school and a church. The beauty of this village is that you don’t need to get in your car to access so many people wonderful walks. Just walk out the door and off you go! Walk to The award-winning Chesters cafe at Skelwith Bridge. Or how about a walk over Red Bank to Grasmere for some delicious Grasmere gingerbread? The famous Britannia Inn in Elterwater is just a 15-minute walk away. The lively Old Dungeon Ghyll hikers bar, New Dungeon Ghyll hotel and Stickle Barn Tavern (National Trust) are just up the road in the Langdale valley. Ambleside and Coniston are a 15 minutes drive away and Windermere and Ullswater are not far away too.. illustrating what a great location this is! By Car: You have easy access to Grasmere (3 miles), Ambleside (5 miles), Kendal (18 miles) and Keswick (20 miles). Motorway Access: Chapel Stile from the North (M6 junction 40) is 36 miles and 56 mins. Chapel Stile from the South(M6 junction 36) is 24 miles and takes 45 minutes. The Piggery is just two minutes walk away from a bus stop in the village. Buses run hourly from Ambleside. The nearest train station is in Windermere. There are countless wonderful walks from your doorstep. If stuck for ideas the local shop in the village has some really good books and leaflets about local walks!
