Run by the Afonsos, nestled in the capital city’s quaint Latin quarter of Fontainhas, it is a veritable bridge between Goa’s Portuguese past and Indian present. Clean and functional, the rooms are airy and equipped with things a traveller might need. A favoured haunt for many an adventurous traveller for over two decades, its hospitality and peppy spirit show no sign of aging and are still as fresh as they were back then. It makes no pretense of being luxurious; instead, we pride ourself in being simplistic and practical. However, the clincher is its lovely terrace graced with potted plants where traditional Goan breakfasts are served to guests every morning, overlooking the whitewashed St Sebastian Chapel. Guests can access the refreshing green terrace. Since we live next door, guests can feel free to interact with us an put forth thier queries should the need arise. Fontainhas is an old Latin Quarter in Panaji, capital city of the state of Goa, India. It maintains to this day its Portuguese influence, namely at the architectonic level, such as narrow and pretty winding streets as found in many European cities, old villas and buildings with projecting balconies painted in the traditional tones of pale yellow, green, or blue, and roofs made of red coloured tiles. The Fontainhas's heritage ambiance represents the traditional Portuguese influence in the area with authentic restaurants which serve Goan as well as multi fusion cuisine. Getting around Fontainhas is preferable by foot or one can avail of the services of a Tuk Tuk as well. Well connected by public transport. We also arrange bikes and taxis for hire on request.
