Linlithgow palace is the main tourist attraction locally. You can stroll round spectacular Linlithgow Loch, home to numerous visiting wild fowl, and only 20 minutes walk from the house. You can enjoy walks and cycling on the canal, the John Muir Way, and at nearby Beecraigs Country Park. There are many easy drives locally and the Trossachs are only an hour or so by car. The house is only a few minutes drive from the M9, about 15 minutes from Edinburgh airport and a short drive or 30 minute walk to Linlithgow railway station. Edinburgh city centre is 20 minutes by rail. You can drive safely to many locations in the countryside but have the convenience of supermarkets and other shops close by.
