Croseo,Welcome! To Cape Gwynfi - a freshly renovated, charming welsh home with breathtaking mountain views. The Afan Valley is the perfect location to indulge yourself in nature. With woodland walks straight from the garden, bike trails aplenty, waterfalls, the near by Brecon Beacons and the coastline just a short drive away - you will be be spoiled for choice on places to enjoy during your stay and be sure to fall in love with the friendly community and gorgeous surroundings! Our home is an end terrace property that backs on to the mountain side with stunning views. Freshly renovated, Cape Gwynfi has a contemporary feel with quirky touches, bright colors and a light and spacious feel. On the ground floor you will find an open plan living and dining area with the kitchen to the rear, overlooking the back garden. On the first floor is two double bedrooms and a spacious family bathroom. The living room/dining area - The hub of the house! The front window of this space looks out over vast views of the Afan Valley and is the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Enjoy an evening meal on our handmade bespoke dining table or cosy up on the sofa under a blanket, this room is perfect to relax in and enjoy with family and friends. The Kitchen - Well equipped, with everything you will need to enjoy your stay and feel at home. All of our appliances are new to the property for this summer season, including a cooker/oven, fridge/freezer, dish washer, washing machine and tumble dryer. The Bedrooms - two double bedrooms, both with brand new mattresses. You will be sure to have a great nights sleep! Both rooms have beautiful views over the Afan Valley. The Bathroom - Spacious, with both a shower and bath. If you're feeling a little bit funky, our shower has the option of led lights and doubles up as a disco shower! If you're feeling more of a chilled vibe, open the window and lie back in our bath looking out at the mountain side and the trees! The Garden - set over 3 tiers, backing on to the foot paths in to forest and mountain. The top of the garden has the most amazing views over the Afan Valley. Sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun, the sunsets over the valley are incredible! Please note that the steps in the garden are very steep and during the summer months, due to the location and how close we are to the forest, waterfalls and rivers - some guests may want to bring insect repellent. Parking for the property is on the street, to which there is lots of. Once you have arrived at our home, there really is no reason to leave during your stay as their is so much to offer within walking distance. However to explore the area further afield a car makes life much easier. The Afan Valley is famous for its mountain bike trails. Should you be visiting to cycle, please note that currently we have no outdoor lockup for bikes. You are welcome to bring your bikes inside, so long as they have been cleaned down (we have an outside hose for this) however this is at guests own risk. During your stay, I will away from the property. Cape Gwynfi is co-hosted by Allie who is always only a phone call away and always on hand to help. Our wonderful house keeper is also available should there be an emergency. Blaengwynfi is a forming mining village that is nestled in to the Upper Afan Valley. As with many South Wales villages, the village is full of welsh charm and friendliness. Expect to be greeted with a hello when out walking and to feel at home during your stay, there is always a 'welcome in the hillside'. Our home backs on to the mountain side and to reach us you will wind your way through the steep welsh streets of our village, the views getting more and more stunning as you climb higher and reach Cape Gwynfi, your home from home. Although peaceful with that rural feel, you will have everything you need within walking distance. Two streets down the hill you will find two general stores selling all the essentials and more, a pub serving lovely home cooked food, a post office, chemist and a chinese takeaway. Due to the steps in to the property, we are sorry to advise that this property has no disabled access.
