Restored Farm House on Olive Grove
Quinta da Esperança, best known as the “Priest’s Vegetable Garden”, belonged initially to the Priest Gabriel Rodrigues Pinto. It is a typical “monte alentejano” style house, built in the beginning of the 20th century, on 9 acres of centenary olive grove. It is one kilometer distant from Alvito’s centre and 500 meters from Santa Luzia Hermitage. It was restored in the past few years, through the use of local materials as the Barrancos’ schist” and the “caninha” (small cane). Excellent for a short or long term stay either with family or friends. Prices according to number of guests and lenght of stay. Lodging: House has 4 double-rooms, 2 bathrooms, study room, living room, dining room and full equiped kitchen. A water tank has been converted into a small leisure pool ( 6 m length x 3 m width x 1 m de depth). Bikes available (free use for guests). Internet Wireless available. We also provide workshops related to the traditional local activities, such as Bread making, wine cellar visiting, gastronomy, handcraft and others. The owners live in the old barn of the property. They are always available for any help guests may need.
