Perfect for family vacations and groups of friends with plenty of activities in the region for all ages. We offer a relaxing escape on 64 acres tucked alongside a serene river with hiking and mountain biking trails at your front door. Both guest houses are newly remodeled, light, airy and private. Bedding, towels and complete kitchen are included in both houses. We are dedicated to providing a safe, affirming, and inclusive holiday option for all identities and lived experiences. Dogs welcome! I am excited to welcome guests to my simple and lovely gîtes. There are two beautiful buildings that are rented together (****for last minute rentals I will would be open to renting separately, please contact me directly for this option****). The first house has a large full kitchen, bathroom with bathtub, two bedrooms (one with two single beds and one with a double bed), and a large deck which is shared communal space for both gites. The second house has a small kitchen, full bathroom with shower, fireplace, bedroom, living room and private patio. Both houses have plenty of windows that provide great natural light and fresh air. Guests are welcome to explore and enjoy the property which includes trails, ponds, meadows and a river. Though the property feels very remote and wild, hidden in the Bertrande Valley, it is only minutes away from the closest town and a short drive to many of the most incredible highlights of the Cantal. Guests are welcome to explore the property, give apples and carrots to the horses, play outdoor games in the garden and access the river! I live on site about 200 meters from the rental houses and will be available to welcome guests and address any issues that might arise as well as offer advice or suggestions on the many different things to do in the region. I am warm, open and love to chat but also respect the privacy of guests. Guests are provided with a remote to open the gate to ensure security and 24 hours a day hassle free access. A beautiful natural retreat in the wild heart of the Cantal. The house is on the western slope of the Massif Central and is centrally located to explore the incredible Cantal department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Some of the local’s favorite things to do (all within a 45-minute drive) include: exploring the historic town of Salers. Eating at one of the many incredible auberges that offer local plates with ingredients sourced from surrounding farms. Visiting local farms and cheese producers driving the ‘route de fromage’. Discovering the gorges of the majestic Jordanne Valley. Taking in the breathtaking views hiking up the Puy Mary. Hitting fresh snow backcountry (or resort) skiing. Enjoying a local beer in one of Aurillac’s great restaurants. Having lazy days exploring the trails through the property or sitting by one of the many ponds on the property reading a book. There is a butcher and a small shop that sells staples, fresh bread, fruit and vegetables 7 minutes away, a full bakery and pharmacy 25 minutes away and a full grocery store 35 minutes away. A car is necessary not only to get to the property but to explore the area. The region is known for its incredible drives, motorcycle and bicycle touring, hiking and incredible wilderness. We are in nature! The houses are beautiful and clean but do expect wildlife! If your dog chases wildlife please keep it on a leash to respect our wild neighbors.
