White Cross Cottage, built in 1550, lies 200 yards from Seaton seafront. It offers spacious, comfortable accommodation yet retains many original features. 3 large bedrooms, two with king-size beds, and one with a double and a single bed. There is a shower room upstairs, and a separate toilet downstairs. Outside at the rear, there is a multi-level courtyard area. This a super sun trap that is safe for dogs and children as it is gated. Perfect for families, dog owners and friends. The pretty town of Seaton is located on the East Devon coast between Lyme Regis in West Dorset and the fishing town of Beer, which is a short drive or coastal walk away. It faces onto Lyme Bay, to the west of the River Axe with red cliffs to one side and white cliffs on the other. A sea wall provides access to a shingle beach and small harbour. Seaton is on the stretch of the Jurassic Coast, a designated World Heritage Site, and offers a good range of shops, friendly cafés, restaurants and pubs. The narrow gauge Colyton tram way is a delight and takes you around the local area. There is fishing to be enjoyed from the beach and day trips on boats can be taken from the small harbour on the River Axe, close to the yachting marina. The town is also bordered by marshes and wetlands that are home to a wide variety of bird species, and many visitors arrive festooned with binoculars hoping to spot a rarity. The nearby town of Axminster has some fantastic places to eat. One of the best things about the location is that once you’ve parked up and unpacked, you don’t really need to drive again until you leave as everything is on the doorstep. The whole cottage, courtyard garden at rear, and two free parking spaces are provided. Happy to help with any issues a guest might have. All contact details are in the cottage, along with information on local amenities and attractions. Within close walking distance of the cottage, there are two supermarkets, pubs and restaurants, the southwest coastal path, the Jurassic centre, Seaton Tramway, The Wetlands and of course the beach. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Enclosed, terraced courtyard with garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are several steps in the courtyard, and a couple of steps to the front door. The beach at the end of the road (Fisherman’s Gap to Seaton Hole) is ‘off the lead’ dog-friendly all year round. The rest of the beach has seasonal restrictions. A map with the restrictions detailed is in the cottage.
