In the evening you will enjoy relaxing on the terrace, make grill, hike or cycle, visit lake Zbilje with hundreds of swans. Mountain view apartment is in a new private house in Medvode, suburbs of lively Ljubljana at the border of the Polhograjski Dolomiti landscape park. In the morning you could see the KAMNIK AND SAVINJA ALPS getting light from the rising sun. DOMOVOJ apartments, beyond expectations, is located in village Vaše, close to Medvode (5 min) and Ljubljana center (15 km, 20 min) by car. The main room is bright and clean with a double bed (180 x 200), a kitchen, wardrobe, and table with chairs. You will have your own design private BATHROOM with a walk-in shower, two sinks, toilet, bide, and complimentary bathroom essentials. The towels, slippers, and bed linen will be provided. From the ground floor, there is also an entrance to the large garden and TERRACE where kids can even RUN AND PLAY. You can make a GRILL and enjoy it on the terrace. Guests have access to a terrace with a furniture set where you can relax. We can arrange a grill. If you stay longer, you can use our washing machine and any detergent, iron, and anything else you might need - as at home, for a small fee. Don`t worry, you can park your car in the FREE PARKING PLACE in front of the house. This is a small, peaceful country village, sometimes even too calm. We will do my best to make your stay as pleasant as possible and help you with all the local recommendations (restaurants, hiking options, cultural events, natural sights etc.). We speak fluent English, German, Serbian and Croatian. At your arrival we will show you the apartment and tell you everything you need to know. And the will be a warm “come back soon” at your departure. In-between: if you prefer to be alone that`s perfect. You will have ALL PRIVACY as possible but we are living in this house so this should be respected. If you would like to MEET AND CHAT, have a common meal, barbecue, it`s fine for us, too. That is why we decided to share our home with you. We will share the costs and cooking expertise. We have been travelling a lot and have been welcome in different places in Europe and other parts of the world and would like to share this to you, too. If you need a PICK UP (and delivery) at airport Ljubljana (Brnik) or train (bus) station, let us know and we will provide this transfer (extra charge). If you will come late or at night we will help you to find a place or even pick you up in near town Medvode. If you have any question, feel free to ask. The Vaše village is a very calm and friendly place, with even no bars, shops, restaurants – but you can find all of these (grocery store, shops, bars, restaurants, bank, post office…) in near town Medvode just few minutes away by car. Medvode region offers a number of ACTIVITIES IN NATURE: Zbilje lake with hundreds of swans, you can hike or do mountain biking in Polhograjski Dolomiti landscape park which starts behind our house, you can cycle to medieval town Škofja loka. You can rent e-bikes in Medvede. We are located at the local road which is famous for cyclers&bikers from Ljubljana going in direction Škofja loka and to Gorenjska region. And you can always find a way back. A lot of friendly people you can ask for advice since many Slovenians speak at least English. You can go skiing (Krvavec and Stari vrh ski resorts), fishing in Sora or Sava rivers, and running – you CAN BE ACTIVE as you can imagine. But above all you can reach the Adriatic coast, mountains, Bled, Bohinj lake, natural beauties such as Postojna cave, medieval cities such as Škofja loka or Ptuj and all other places in Slovenia in a DAY TRIPS. Our house is special because it`s located in country side but it is just short drive from LJUBLJANA CITY CENTRE. A number of small and big parks are located around the whole city. Everything that Ljubljana is famous for is located practically within walking distance in the city center: old town, medieval castle, Three bridges, Townhall, Cathedral, other tourist attractions, good restaurants, city nightlife, museums and much, much more is there to enjoy. Above all – there is a special, unforgettable atmosphere because of these lively activities, many different languages, local people living there, shops on the streets, events going on – everything is going on in a relatively small area. Many attractions can be found with a few more minutes of walking or by bike. We will give you a map and SUGGEST on how to experience it. Village Vaše and town Medvode (15 minutes walk from our place) is very close to Ljubljana (15 km, 20 minutes by car, there are regular city buses and trains) but also very close to Ljubljana airport (Jože Pučnik Airport) which is 18 km away, 30 min by car. GETTING TO US It is better to spend your money on vacations, not on travel costs. To get to us in a low-cost way you can use low-cost airlines to fly to Ljubljana, Venice Treviso (IT), Trieste (IT), Klagenfurt (AU), and Zagreb (CRO). From there you can get a shuttle transfer to Ljubljana and we will pick you up there. We can help you with information on how to do it. Vaše / Medvode is a good starting point for making day trips in Slovenija. The highways are just a few km away (for Gorenjska, Bled, Bohinj region, 10 km), for the rest of Slovenia, 8 km. Coming from far away countries and you would like to see Venice in Italy, Vienna in Austria or Budapest in Hungary. No problem: you can reach and visit each of them in even one day trip by car (highways only, 4 hours to Venice, 3 hours to Vienna). Better: make it in two or three days.
