One of two adjacent cottages on the millstream with access by footbridge to the island and patio with bbq. Our well equipped cottage on three levels is just the place for a couple, a group of friends or a family of up to 5. Situated on the outskirts of a small village and easy stroll to the shop, bread depot and small restaurant. We live next door and are on hand should you need anything. Look for the kingfisher, spot the red squirrels, do a spot of fishing or mess about in the boats. Directly on the millstream with lovely views of the river. This is the perfect place to relax and watch the ducks go by. The cottage is spacious enough to give everyone space but cosy enough for a couple. There is a wide range of books on hand and a boules kit. Our cottage is decorated with local art. This cottage is on three levels. The double bedroom, single bedroom and shower room with toilet are upstairs. The gound floor has the kitchen/diner, the twin bedroom with wash basin and a toilet. Downstairs from the kitchen is the sitting room with wood burner, French doors to a patio and access to the bridge and mill island.. If stairs are a problem then this is maybe not the place for you. There is no tv or dishwasher. As well as the cottage guests have access to the millstream and mill island where children can make dens and have treasure hunts, play in the boat or paddle in the river. The two patios give quiet places to sit or have a bbq. We have two adult bikes which guests are free to borrow. We're here to welcome you and are happy to chat about things to do in the area. We are also on hand should you need help with reserving restaurants or any problems which might come up. Our village is between Argenton sur Creuse and St Gaultier. It's quiet but within walking distance of the village shop, bread depot and small restaurant. There is also an excellent restaurant in the Chateau de Chabenet in the upper part of the village. Close to the Brenne Natural Park, this area is rich in wildlife. Our road is known for wild orchids in May and June, we are on the flight path of the cranes, over fifty different types of birds have been spotted around or near the property including redstarts, bee eaters, hoopoe and golden oriole. Fishing is good too with access from the island or easy driving to carp lakes in the area. We are also close to a cyclepath which goes from Argenton to Le Blanc. Public transport is not the easiest here but we have had guests arrive by train and then use the bikes to get about. We are happy to pick you up at the station and take you to the supermarket. The river is unfenced so we feel it is unsuitable for children under six. However you know your children better than us so if you think they will be fine then talk to us about it. The property is on three levels so if stairs are a problem then maybe this isn't the place for you - again chat to us about it. It shares a wall with the cottage next door so you may hear a little noise.
